Last week's question made me want to travel and be outside, and it was a lot of fun! A huge thank you to everyone who answered!

This week let's see if we can stay in the outdoorsy mindset.

Here's this week's question:

💜💜 What is one outdoor activity you loved to do as a kid that you wish you could still do now, as an adult? Alternatively, what's one outdoor activity you didn't like as a kid that you now absolutely love as an adult? Take your pick! 💜💜

Okay, everyone, have a great time reminiscing and I'll see y'all in the comments!

Definitely climbing trees. I felt on top of the world. Kinda how i imagine flying must feel. Ugh, i love getting older...it really has become my neck,🎵my back. 🎵 my joints all crack 🎶

I loved cycling, and starting in my late teens, running. In grade school my bicycle was my escape machine when things got bad at home; my best friend (with whom I'm still in touch more than fifty years later) had a great bike because he had a paper route, so he was rich compared to the rest of us. He and I used to go out to an abandoned Air Force base on the edge of town and race our bikes on the runways. Being on a bicycle felt like being able to fly. I got into middle distance running as a teen - nothing serious, just by myself or with a friend or two most of the time - and loved the way it made me feel, too. I ran a lot of 10Ks for a few years. At most of them it was a real carnival atmosphere. I knew I was going to finish somewhere in the middle of a pack of thousands, so I wasn't worried about being competitive except with myself. Life could be overwhelming me, and if I just went for a run, it would all feel manageable when I got back. Can't do either any more; I've got a fake knee, titanium parts in both feet, I wrecked both Achilles tendons the last year I was running, and my back and neck are pretty much done. It's karma. When I was a teenager I used to tease my mom and stepdad because their joints crackled when they walked, and the universe was apparently taking notes. Then again, life isn't nearly as stressful as it used to be, and I can still walk all day long.
