A vacation off the grid seemed like a great idea when we got to this island. But now, with the storm threatening to remove our access to the mainland, cell service completely non-existent, and our friends missing, suddenly it doesn't seem like such a great idea...

What can I say? I've been reading a lot of closed-loop mysteries lately, and I wanted to try my hand at creating that intense atmosphere in audio form. I hope you love it!

Enjoy!

Okay, okay, okay, that definitely got the heart rate up a little. First things first though, you can never go wrong with a good mystery and I think, speaking for myself at least, it’s pretty comfy, cozy, and safe in your little worlds, so adding some risks and distress to it can be a nice (and nerve-wracking) change of pace. It’s a good mix up, especially considering your content is usually very focused on the characters and their little bubble/story, and here there’s all these things and elements happening around them simultaneously as their story is going on. It reminds me of ‘And Then There Were… Orgasms?’ because that one had a similar element and atmosphere as well. (Which you ended on a major cliffhanger, by the way, Ms. Beauticia Theodora Beholdington. Just putting that out there.) Anyhoo, I loved the pacing in this. The slow build up from the calm “we’re just going to observe and assess the situation, if it gets bad, we leave” till the more worried and panicky “this is scary, what the heck is going on?”, and that you can hear the little shifts in her voice as it progresses. It’s subtle but impactful, and truly draws you into those feelings while listening. The atmosphere is so well done too. Definitely made me feel the stress and scariness of the situation, but also the stress of these characters being in potential danger and had me worrying about their safety. Which is partially just me never wanting anything bad to happen to anyone ever, fictional or not, but it’s also just really great storytelling. It’s meant to make you think and feel all the things, and this was no exception. I also really loved how different this felt from your regular content because the mystery feels like the heart of the story. At least at the moment. Anyhoo, I don’t remember if you said if this was going to be a series or not, but if it is, oh boy, am I excited. You’ve done some pretty epic cinematic style audios before and I think you can play a lot with that here, and that could be so much fun… and stressful… but fun. And I think we all know how much you love a good plot twist. This has the potential to be such an incredible series, and I’m so here for it. My apologies if this is a little messy worded, my brain is a bit all over the place today, but I wanted to get to this while the feels were still fresh. 😅🤗💕
