Great episode. Poor Betty just needs family, and Chad-aru being so passionate and so honest about his concern for her and wanting to be part of that family for her. He was absolutely ready to die and do it all over again just to try and save Betty again if she rejected him, and he would have done the same for any other of his friends in the situation, just shows how much he loves and cares for them all. When I watched this first time, water randomly came out of my eyes too for some reason lol, weird shit.

As I've previously mentioned, Re:Zero has a web comic, light novels, a manga, and an anime, all with varying differences to the story. The overall plot doesn't change, but certain events, interactions, and lore drops are added, deleted, or moved around depending on the story medium. While it doesn't happen in the anime, something else occurs in the light novels when Subaru is searching the burning mansion for Beatrice. I haven't read the light novels myself, but I watched a YouTube video that details omissions from the anime. I assume you won't be reading the light novels, but if I'm mistaken, you should stop reading my comment here. In the light novels, when Subaru is searching for a new door to Betty's library after telling her he isn't "that person" and getting kicked out, Elsa's body is revived as a mindless zombie. She died in her battle with Garfiel, but her body is somehow reanimated (not sure why). So basically, in addition to navigating the burning building and opening every door, Subaru had to find Betty's room while being chased by a mindless Zombie Elsa. When he locates the final unopened door in Roswaal's mansion, Subaru tells Betty that he'll die if she doesn't let him in (same as in the anime). Essentially, when he burned his hand on the door handle, he realized just how strong the fire was in the next room. Betty, of course, lets him in, and the door closes before Elsa can follow them. Her zombie body burns away in the mansion fire after failing to kill Subaru. I have no idea WHY her body was able to reanimate after death, but it would have been interesting to see animated. I kinda think Season 2 should have been longer, but I still enjoyed myself immensely. Anyways, I'm looking forward to your final Re:Zero S2 reaction!
