Testing Babies - Part 1 (Patreon)

All Crystal expected to happen when she took her job at the local nursing center was that she’d get the chance to get a good and well-paying job and get something that could keep her out of her parents’ house. The two of them were always nagging her and telling her that she had to focus on her future, but she just found it hard to care. She was only 20 after all. She had her whole life to figure all of that stuff out. All she wanted was a little time off to play some video games, eat whatever she wanted, and surf the web, and watch... naughty videos as much as she wanted. (Though of course she didn’t tell her parents that last one.) They had tried encouraging her to go to college and focus on something in particular, but she only went for a single semester before deciding to drop out. Back at home for good, she spent her time lounging about and not doing much. She should have known that that time couldn’t last forever.

Before very long it became too much for her parents and they forced her to move. They claimed that once she had rent to pay, it would force her to become responsible and get a job. Crystal didn’t see it that way, she was pissed. She was forced into a crappy small apartment and now had to figure out a way to make several hundred dollars in rent every month or she’d be homeless she supposed! If it came to that, she didn’t think her parents would let that happen, but if she had to move back in with them Crystal knew they would not be happy.

So of course, the girl had no other choice than to find some work.

She struggled for a while to find anyone who would even give her an interview because nobody except grocery stores wanted to hire someone who was 20 years old, didn’t have much love for working, and clearly had no prior experience. Crystal left interview after interview more frustrated with every rejection she got. They would give her the old excuse of, “Oh we’ll call you and let you know.” Before being completely ghosted by the company forever. She was starting to get to the point where she wanted to concede defeat and beg her parents to let her come back.

That was when she applied at the nursing center.

Crystal had no idea how long the business had been there. She hadn’t recalled seeing them there before. While looking through job listings though she found that at a place pretty local to her, a nursing center were looking for new nurses to help out with their patients. The listing said that NO prior experience in medicine was necessary and they would teach their new nurses on the job to get them certified.

“Perfect!” Crystal thought. “Wait till they find out I’ve become a nurse. Won’t they feel stupid for kicking me out, haha.”

Crystal read through the listing completely and found that the nurses center was having a little test for new recruits. A way to test one’s general knowledge and experience.

It was only a few days later that Crystal showed up at the location the test would be happening. She signed in, got a name tag, and entered the testing room. The room looked like a pretty normal classroom, filled with rows of desks, and was filled with young women. At the front of the room stood a confident woman dressed in a purple nurse’s dress and white hat. “Please everyone. Take your seats. The test is about to begin.”

Naturally Crystal sat in the back of the room while a lot of the goody two shoes sat in the front of the room.

“Hey what’s up?” A girl next to her, with the nametag Amber on it. “My name’s Amber. Know anything about this?” Crystal just shrugged. “I heard it’s all just bullshit, hehehe. This is mostly just required for them to do. It’s not like any of it matters.”

“Would anyone like to pass out the tests for me?” The nurse at the front asked. Almost before she’d finished the question a girl in the center front row’s hand shot up. “Why thank you dear, here you go.” Crystal rolled her eyes at the kiss-ass of a girl as she stood up and starting passing the papers out to everyone. Her nametag read Shannon. As Shannon walked by the two of them and gave them their papers, Crystal let out a fake cough as she took her test and said, “Loser!” Making herself and Amber giggle as the glaring girl walked away.

Once all of the papers got passed out the nurse said, “Alright everyone; begin.”

Crystal exchanged glances with Amber, the girl next to her, and the girl gave her a funny face before pretending to shoot herself in the head with a gun made out of her fingers. Crystal reminded herself that she was only here to stay out of her parents’ basement. She let out a sigh before cracking open the workbook and starting the test.
