Chapter 15

We drove to the mall for the second time in the same week. The whole trip was quiet, except for a few moments of us singing the words to stupid songs meant for teenagers. Oddly I had a feeling I was starting to get through to Frankie.

If she wasn’t such a meanie, we could actually get along well. Of course there was also the fact that she was obsessed with infantilizing me and putting me back in diapers…  Apart from that she seemed like a decent young girl.

Somehow she always seemed to get what she wanted, as I was in fact still sporting a pair of Goodnites under my shorts. As a matter of fact, I was expected to as a result of my accident the night before.

The whole ordeal was a bit ridiculous and somehow part of Frankie’s devious plan. Sleeping in an actual diaper the night before had made things very clear that the situation wouldn’t get better for me.

I had tried to run away only to be caught up by my diabolical first cousin who blackmailed me with pictures from each night I slept at the cottage, wearing a different pair of bedwetter Pull-Ups in each of them.

That could only confirm my theory that she had been behind my bed wetting the whole time, putting my fingers in warm water or some other trick to get me to wet myself.

It was hard for me to  hide my desire for revenge but I had to lead her to believe she had won, at least until the end of the day, just so she would keep her guard down.

However I had to be careful not to make her suspicious. It was one thing to play along with her, it was another to allow her to do whatever twisted deed her mind could conjure up. When we finally parked the car in the mall’s parking lot, I wanted to make things very clear.

Ashley: Now listen to me, we are NOT going to the pharmacy this time. Understand?

She smiled.

Frankie: Of course not, sweetie, you have everything you need back home, don’t you?

Ashley: Yes! …I mean no! I mean… You know what I mean. We’re not gonna buy me more baby stuff. That’s over.

Frankie: Aww, but a pacifier would’ve looked so cute on you, don’t you think? We could buy one that matches your diapie for tonight!

I was internally boiling and blushing at the same time.

Frankie: I’m just kidding, jeez! Of course we won’t, we’re here to buy me a cute dress for tonight, that’s it. Don’t be so sensitive baby girl.

She got out of the car. I followed her, determined to keep a close eye on her this time. She’d be capable of buying a onesie for her or worse… a plastic potty with the ‘‘brilliant’‘ idea to make her use it instead of a regular toilet. My aunt Sally would let her do it too, they were a pair of devious psychopaths.

We entered the mall and headed straight to the dress shop. There was only one customer, an older lady who was apologizing profusely to the saleswoman for some reason.

Frankie started to look at the dresses, but wasn’t satisfied with what she found. They all looked way too formal for the occasion. I was hanging out next to her, waiting for her to make her decision. She picked up a small, purple frilly dress that seemed more suited for an 8 year old flower girl at a wedding.

Ashley: Hum… you’re sure you want to wear that tonight?

Frankie: Me? Oh no, these are all horrible, but it would look so cute on you!

Ashley: Don’t push it Frankie!

Frankie: Come on, just try it out, it’ll be fun! I want to see you in it. We don’t have to buy it… It’ll be like playing dress up.

Ashley: I don’t really want to.

Frankie: Need I remind you of all the pictures I got from you?

Ashley: You won’t get my help with James if you expose them.

Frankie: How badly do you think I want a date with him? He’s got a girlfriend already… For all I care we don’t even have to go to that bar!

Ashley: NO, fine! I’ll do it. I’ll try on the damn dress.

We had to go to that bar, it was part of my plan. She seemed surprised that I was so eager to put this thing on, but I picked it up from her hand and headed directly to the fitting room.

I closed the door behind me and slid down my shorts to get it over with.

I didn’t even cringe at the sight of my Pull-Ups, nor did I really look at them in the mirror. My childish, padded underwear was just that… underwear.

I removed my top and started putting the dress on. It was too short for me, but it I was surprised to realize that it did fit my petite frame. I couldn’t reach the zipper in the back so I got out and asked Frankie for help.

She took her sweet time, looking at my back through the dress and the waistband of my Goodnites peeking out, before closing it up right before the sales lady came to join us. Her customer had left for the back of the store.

Saleswoman: Well don’t you look lovely honey! Are you gonna be the flower girl?

Frankie: As a matter of fact she is! She’s getting a bit old for it, but what can we say, she’s the baby of the family!

Saleswoman: You’re never too old for such an important job, are you dear? Just make sure you go to the bathroom before putting it on when the wedding comes… a young girl just had an accident in her dress, just a moment ago in this store.

Frankie: Oh no, poor kid! Well accidents do happen, don’t they Ashley?

I remained silent, not wanting to trigger anything from Frankie, hoping she’d drop the subject quickly and that the lady would go away. I certainly didn’t want to get called out for wearing Pull-Ups under my dress.

Saleswoman: Yes they do! I had her mother bring her a pair of Pull-Ups that I sell here just in case. I always say it’s better to be safe than sorry! I can show you the products I have if you’re interested…

Frankie: That’s okay, thank you, we have Pull-Ups at home. I think our flower girl is a bit nervous about the wedding, we’ve had trouble with bed wetting lately.

I looked at her with daggers shooting through my eyes. I didn’t risk to speak a word, but my glare said it all.

Luckily, the saleswoman was called by the customer who emerged from the backstore. I whispered to Frankie.

Ashley: Why do you always have to embarrass me like that?

Frankie: Be thankful I didn’t tell her you’re wearing Pull-Ups right now.

Before I could reply, a young woman walked out of the backstore to join her mother. When the saleswoman mentioned a girl who had an accident, I didn’t expect her to be so… old. She seemed like she could be my age.

Frankie: She’s the one who peed in her dress?! Ashley see, you’re not the only adult in Pull-Ups now! Oh my God, we should have a playdate!

The girl looked so embarrassed, her Goodnites were peeking from the top of her low-rise jeans. I couldn’t believe we were actually in the same situation… it all seemed surreal… Like a crossover.
