The Sugar Baby (Chapter 3) (Patreon)

I needed to come up with an excuse for peeing my pants, and fast. I couldn’t tell her my manager wouldn’t let me because she would go over there and make a big deal about it, only to find out that’s how I quit…maybe if I twist me being sick into something making me lose control, she might buy it. So I slowly made my way downstairs and sat down at the table, praying she doesn’t see through my lie.
Mom: So what happened?
Joanna: With what…?
I tried to play dumb, but that might’ve made it worse.
Mom: Did you pee yourself last night?
Joanna: Um...yeah kinda…
Mom: How do you ‘kinda’ pee yourself Joanna, yes or no?
Joanna: Yeah I did…
Mom: Oh seriously Joanna? I thought I raised you well enough to not be peeing your pants as an adult, that’s unacceptable.
Joanna: I didn’t mean to! I started needing to pee and then felt faint, like you know how you get when you’re sick? So I tried to make my way to the bathroom but I had to sit down before I got there or I would’ve passed out, and then I couldn’t hold it anymore and it just all came out…
Mom: If you were so sick you were passing out, you shouldn’t have been at work at all Jo.
Joanna: I know I know, but I didn’t feel that bad when I got there. It was only when it got later that I started feeling bad.
She looked at me, still disappointed, but I think she believed me.
Mom: Well don’t let it happen again, I don’t want to have to potty train you all over.
Joanna: Oh Mom don’t be ridiculous, it was a fluke accident while I was sick, it happens to everyone.
Mom: Sure, and how are you feeling now?
Joanna: Good as new! That long sleep really helped.
Mom: Well good, you have work again tonight right? Think you’ll be able to work?
Oh shit, I always gave my mom my schedule so she knew when I would and would not be around. I was going to have to keep with that routine.
Joanna: Yeah, 5:30-2. So don’t wait up for me!
Mom: I’ll make some dinner before you have to go then.
Joanna: Oh don’t worry about that!
She looked at me confused, now I had to cover for this lie too.
Joanna: We’re looking at new menu items so I think I’ll be trying those out tonight. So I’ll be fed!
Mom: Okay then, eat your breakfast.
I devoured my pancakes then went to the gym. I made sure to do extra squats to really tighten up for tonight, I wanted to impress David. Part of me did it to make sure I get that salary, but part of me was really nervous and excited. I haven’t had a proper date in a while. To be honest, I had kind of stopped dating altogether until I could get through some of the more difficult years of my schooling. Boys just complicated things and I really needed to do well, especially if I wanted to get into law school which had been my goal since high school. Not to mention I would have to sacrifice work time to spend time with a boy. If something special came along then I might go for it, I’m a sucker for fate and good love stories but for now, I wanted to succeed.
The rest of the day dragged on and on, I started thinking about how I was going to keep the appearance of still having a job whilst not actually having to work. Plus the money, and the gifts, how was I meant to hide that? Of course I wanted to spend it, and that’s a lot of money to just sit on, but I might just have too. My Mom could NEVER know how I was making this money. She would disown me, or something worse. I figured I would keep the same schedule that I had for this week for the rest of the summer. That meant Tuesday through Saturday I’ll be “working” and Sunday and Monday I’ll have “off”. Now I just had to fill my days with things to do in which I would never get caught, and would fill that whole time frame.
When the evening finally came, I dressed up in my work attire. Thankfully, my work clothes were meant to be dressy as my previous job was pretty high class, so I would’ve worn this type of dress out anyways. I left at 5 to ‘get to work’ and instead opted to go to the mall close to the restaurant I was meeting David. I got myself a Venti Latte from Starbucks to help keep me from getting sleepy, and sipped it while reading a book in a bookstore.
After I was just at the end of my latte my phone buzzed with a text message, it was David.
Hello Dani, looking forward to seeing you tonight. I am already here sitting in a booth at the back, ask the Hostess to guide you. She’ll know my name.
I replied:
Hi David, I’m also early and will be there in 5 minutes, see you shortly!
I swung back the last of my latte and put the book back on the shelf. The restaurant was just across the road, so after the light allowed me to cross I was already there. I walked up to the Hostess and told her I was looking for David. She smiled and lead me to the far back corner. Walking by there were nothing but rich people, I think a few celebrities that I recognized but couldn’t put a name to their face, and I could feel a few eyes on me as made my way through. Even though I was dressed nice to my standards, I felt underdressed to these people.
Then I saw him. Well dressed, clean shaven. A little grey in his mostly dark hair, strong jaw, and very well dressed. He saw me, stood up, and smiled.
David: Dani, it’s a pleasure.
He raised out his hand and I met it with mine, his hands were gentle and he kiss my hand like I was some sort of royalty.
Joanna: it’s a pleasure to meet you too David.
I just stood there lost in his eyes, this can’t be the kind of guy that pays for company, he was just so handsome!
