A few rules & reminders:

  • Chapters will be dropping as Bryce completes them. That means anywhere from every 1 to 2 weeks on average, though sometimes waits may be longer.
  • Recall that these are rough chapters, with no editing other than a single pass-through as Bryce writes.

Someone said something about Reece having kittens... That was before he recalled his CAD and gave a weapon back to an opponent, I hope Dent takes his side or he'll be doing sprints for weeks in combat training.

I'm wondering if Dent isn't gonna be the one doing it. They might think of it as showboating, but if they have the full recordings then well, we'll see! Biggs definitely deserved the being put in his place, though. And since the match wasn't called, clearly the adjudicators didn't think anything wrong, even if the verbal taunting is supposed to be bad form.

I still don’t think Biggs was worth making an example of, seems petty. He’s been dealing with people like him his whole life, it’d have been cool if he could have proved them wrong against people who actually mattered.

He’s to high of a rank and to skilled to make a example of someone who treats him badly most of the close ones are in his school only way I see it is if somehow he goes against a second year for some reason but everyone whose bullied snaps eventually one way or another and like it said the crowd loves a good show

Can't agree here. He made it fair. Went out of his way, in fact, to do so. Him using it to make a point to people who are dickheads would only be bad if he did something untoward, which he explicitly avoided. It's perfectly reasonable for Rei to be annoyed.

Biggs is a bully, beating and embarrassing a bully is the one way to be them to stop. Now he'll think twice before doing it to someone else.

Rei has always “made examples” of his bullies. We see it during combat club in one of the opening chapters of the first book. He just has always had to use witty comments to tie up his bully and make them seem like an ass by using words. Now that he has the strength, it is totally in his personality for him to defend his pride. It’s something that he has always done

Nice "fight", short but sweet with a Glory Kill finish. I am guessing that Reese will be mad (ok, that part is hardly an insightful guess), and be mad that the team did not bring their full strength to bear, and "gave the opponents a chance" and mad at Rei in particular for being Rei, while Dent will be happy at the improvisation and creative use of the conditions, and that the team got a little experience of fighting in a sub-optimal state.

Or he'll double down on his bullying because he was embarrassed. Maybe even pull a Selleck 2.0 and jump Rei at the hotel or something. Thinking, "I may not be able to beat you on the SCT field, but I can kick your ass off it"

I agree. They are training for war. They should've fought clean and smart. Theatrics and emotions have no business in a fight like this. Grant should've finished him. That said, Logan seems just as socially immature as aria. Fits his character I suppose, but such actions shouldn't be done by military personal.
