Stormweaver Playmat Poll 1: What Patreon-exclusive bonus do you guys want? - IF YOU PLAN ON BACKING THE KICKSTARTER, PLEASE VOTE (Patreon)

Hey all! As we get closer to running the Stormweaver: Signed Playmat Kickstarter, we need some feedback from you guys!

Initially, Patron backers were going to get a GOLD signature instead of the usual black, but the gold just isn't showing up super well on the playmat no matter what markers we end up using. Even highlighting it in black just doesn't look great. Frustrated, we've come up with a different potential bonus:

A "Reidon Ward" signature next to the character illustration, like he signed the mat himself as well. 

I thought it would be fun to develop signatures for all the FIRESONG members, and anyone who met me could ask to have the other characters "sign" their likeness on the mats over time, if you wanted to.

So we need your opinion. If you're planning on backing the playmat Kickstarter, do you want your Patreon-exclusive bonus to be:

  • a gold signature (instead of the standard black) 


  • a "Reidon Ward" bonus signature

I have a couple of questions. The first is whether it will be possible for me to purchase an unsigned one that I would use, as well as a signed one that would be part of my memorabilia collection and kept in mint condition (I promise to display it right next to my A New Hope Poster signed by Mark Hammil if that helps haha!! :)) Also regarding running into you, any chance youll ever be at NYC Comic Con?

Both would be neat too. The author because it's real and it would be neat to have the stormweaver signature.

You'll be able to purchase multiple signed versions, but probably not an unsigned version because of the potential shipping confusion and complications. And I will DEFINITELY be at the NYC Comic Con at some point, though probably not as a panelist of the like. It's in October, right? I could probably plan on making that trip for sure. I wonder if there's enough people would would want to do a dinner in the city near the event or something...

Well there would be an author signature regardless, of course. Just the plain black one.

Did you think about using blue for signature? That is the color of Rei's CAD.

That's ok , Black works for tattoo outline's , it'll work for a signature. ;P

Reach out to some of the art vendors who frequent the Cons, like Argyle. They have been doing this kinda thing for years and may have some suggestions on brands and options or where to get things. Argyle does playmats and has a few different signature colors he offers; Silver pen, Gold Pen, and a holographic steam on signature in the front and a black marker signature on the back he does in person. Bought one last Dragoncon.

I am sure there will be some people who want a sweat-stained combat suit with Rei's signature (or maybe Viv's, or Aria's), but I would be happy with a signature on the playmat. All I need to do then is bet my butt in gear and build the workstation desk that the playmat can sit on!
