Hey everyone! As Wraithmarked expands we are trying to find places to streamline our workflow to make sure our energy is targeted in the right direction, and one of the biggest time-sucks that we've found is the non-Stormweaver content on this Patreon.

97% of interactions on this Patreon are Stormweaver-related, so we're debating cutting the content we provide down to match. Changes would include:

  • No more non-Stormweaver Early Access Chapters.
  • Additional Stormweaver content (mostly more art and sneak peeks).
  • Elimination or replacement of the $10 ARC tier.

We would continue to support the $25 and $100 Patreon Exclusive Paperback tiers as they are, of course, which would continue to provide quarterly and yearly exclusives!

This would also help support Bryce more specifically, since currently we allocated 25% of all income from this Patreon to the non-Stormweaver content, which cuts pretty substantially into his salary (Patreon is the only place he take his pay from right now).

So:

Would you leave the Patreon if it was ONLY Stormweaver content (and Limited Editions)?

I’m here for stormweaver. Tried some of the other books but they didn’t grab me as stormweaver does. From a business side it’s always good to focus on your core business first. Only diversify your portfolio when your core business can’t grow anymore. To me it feels stormweaver still has more potential to grow and the other stuff just takes away from it. That’s the business view. But from person perspective I guess everyone wants to do something else now and then and don’t be stuck on 1 project. Goodluck with your decisions.

Totally about Stormweaver only!

I admit I was brought here through iron prince but I joined for all the content so while I wouldn’t say that I would definitely leave I would think about whether I wanted to continue for just the stormweaver content we are getting now.

Arttu

Purely here for Stomweaver. I hope for more frequent chapters. They interest much more than art etc.

I would most likely leave if this came into effect. I came here for The Shattered Reign series. However, in the recent months it has seemed more or less like this patreon is alienating its other authors with the sheer amount of stormweaver content. So I feel this would be a big detriment to the patreon if this change were to go into effect.

Not sure if I would leave. And I have debated writing this for awhile. But just a couple of suggestions/points. -Bryce is definitely a draw but to be fair Wraithmark Creative is more than 1 author. From a business perspective you have a number of Big Indie Authors, as well as some newer authors. But I only found you because of Stormweaver. But depending on how you want to market it. Have more content that's exclusive to Wraithmark from people like Michael Chatfield, Nobody103, Jeremy Bai, Phil Tucker, G.D. Penman, Luke Chmilenko. Sorry to TL Greylock, J.A. Andrews, Dark Ashton, Perrin Hayes, Ben Galley, David Estes, Demi Harper, S.M. Boyce, and Chris Harris. But I only just found you and I haven't started a book of your solo content yet. It's now on my list though... -Stormweaver jumped the numbers since its basically the only book that most people knew was exclusive to here. -Ask for preview of books that your big indie authors are putting out. And have them tell their fans about Wraithmarked Creative. If they did that and you brought back the $2 art tier maybe you would see a spike. (Michael Chatfield could maybe put up his Ten Realms Rugrat Tattoo collection) -Test a few things before making a definitive change. Wraithmark is a company and should have a bit more going for it than one content. That's really more what Bryce personal patreon is for. I totally think that it's possible to have all the different content up. And create more of a draw. And spread the money around so everyone gets a good amount of it. But like I told Chatfield on his personal patreon I was blown away finding out he was connected to you at all. Which I think is part of the problem. If no one knows about a tree falling in a forest does it really make a sound? I think Wraithmark could do very well moving forward. Just people have to know what's here and what's available. Tao Wong just did a Q&A with KT. Hanna and Craig Hamilton on Starlit Publishing. And they did I think fairly well. And I think Wraithmarked Creative could do Q & As just as well with their authors. Just as a promotional thing to get things rolling for you guys

I would also note that as much of a fan as I am of Iron Prince, the Stormweaver crowd can be a bit …enthusiastic, with their views and demands which can be a bit off putting to people here to support Wraithmarked as a whole engaging actively on the Patreon. Particularly so when they deride anything but the Stormweaver content or treat it as if it is depriving them of Stormweaver in some way. This doesn’t mean that the others don’t enjoy the content, however ( which is also emailed to them) and I note that the poll only has a bit over 700 votes as of writing which is only about 60% of the subscribers.

missing option, I think it is a bad move for your future business growth, and a shitty move towards your other authors. stormweaver is your loss leader, you use it to juice up your other assets, don't let it strangle everything else. that being said I would stay. can we make that a survey option?

KRDiamond

As someone who came here for Stormweaver and did vote that I would stay: I do think having other things here allows us to find new things to potentially read. A big part of why I voted yes is that I also what to make this sustainable for Bryce. Being stretched too thin + tight funds could burn out a great author and none of us want that. That’s why we are on Patreon - we want to support your art. Anyone that wants to turn this into a constant content feed on their terms isn’t respecting the original intent of the site…but I’m getting sidetracked. What if Bryce’s Patreon focused exclusively on all these awesome Stormweaver things and this one focused on balancing between that and the other books? Double post some of the big draw things like the chapters here but maybe save the super specific to Stormweaver fans things like the art for his Patreon. Make it clear to the fans what would happen so the ones that want Stormweaver only know where to move. The rest of us that are open to more books to read can stay in the Wraithmarked one. Pretty sure you have already thought of this option but just wanted to put it out there. I actually originally found this one After finding Bryce’s but since it seemed that I would get Stormweaver + more here I decided to support this one. I haven’t tried the other books yet since I want to give them a fair shot when I have time to indulge rather than while stressed. But if I tried and hated the rest of the content, and you told me that I could get all the same Stormweaver stuff I’m getting now by support him Specifically instead, I would make the switch without any issue.

Adam, I would love to say I was exaggerating but for the most part I have ran out of books that I want to listen to but in some cases I have finished the book and then immediately restarted it. There had been some breaks yes but not very many. My job lets me listen to books all day long with limited interruptions.
