Sometimes "sound effects" are important to help describe motion, and not so much literal sound. But you knew that!
Here's a close-up of Lilya's hips. I used multiple references, including photos, art by others, and previous art of my own.
For this panel, I took inspiration from one frame of a short sexy video. I grabbed the reference a while ago, and finally got to use it.
I used a photo to help with the expression and shoulders, but it's altered significantly from my inspiration to be uniquely Lilya.
Rough sketch first, then I looked at a photo of a similar pose, and adapted what I saw in the photo to what I want for the drawing.
I drew a background on a layer behind the sketch, checking my 3D set of Lilya's house for inspiration and details. Not much at this angle!
Filling in a block colour. Lilya's base skin colour will do.
Painting shadow over the top of the sketch this time! Using my sketch guidelines to place shadow, and painting over them.
I finish up, paying attention to cast shadows, volume shadow, light reflected into the shadows, and highlights. All done on the art!
Instead of just typing the words out, I'm writing the letterforms using my tablet.
I've been hand-lettering for the past few pages. Did you notice? I'm just starting out, but I hope to get better as I go! It's tough!
