This month's spotlight is on the settlement of Harpy's Hamlet.
Harpy's Hamlet is a small village tucked away in the woodlands of northern Lurzia. Although structures have existed on its site for thousands of years, Harpy's Hamlet wasn't officially recognized until 843 Sixth Age, when it was founded as a settlement for observing the harpies living in the Northern Vanglas Mountain range. Harpies were one of the targets of persecution by Lurzian mages during The Great Divergence and were ruthlessly tracked and destroyed. In spite of its despicability, Harpy's Hamlet was remarkably effective. The harpies were hunted to near extinction in a matter of centuries and the hamlet was left abandoned for some 200 years after.
The village has taken up new residents in recent years, serving as a refuge for townspeople exiled from the nearby township of Ivanhammer for having a lack of faith or for being too educated. Today the small settlement serves as a rebel outpost and features the Church's Wake Workshop among other significant landmarks for Tinkerers and other persecuted races throughout Lurzia.
