Really enjoy the podcast Liam: I've been a Patron for years and am glad I can support your work directly. I have a question for the next Q&A: are there any other cancelled Rare games you have heard about that are not known to the public? I'm specifically curious about any other cancelled handheld projects they did like Grunty's Curse for GBC. I know you talked to some of those old Rare handheld team guys and I'd love to hear more about their work!

Not sure how I feel about more Nintendo films. Metroid could be good if its more of a low budget thing where a director really has a sense of freedom to craft smthn special. I think Zelda has more opportunity to go wrong than Mario, though something like WindWaker could adapt well. Imo, the Mario Movie felt very Western and un-Nintendo. So many lines felt like they were analytically produced in focus tests. Was built off a lot of western film tropes and story archs, but didnt execute that "loser, outcast" story as well as smthn like Wreck it Ralph. Also, thought the film didnt leave much room for anything to breathe, it was just plot point, plot point, plot point. Felt like they were trying to stuff as much branding they could in it. Blueshell Koopa didnt have to yell out "Blueshell!", Rainbow Road felt forced being connected to the DK world. Debasing it to just being a super highway is certainly a choice. I will say, it had a lot of very cute scenes in the film. The characters were overall well done, just wish the script wasnt so unoriginal. They couldve had their own moments w/o having to ride inauthentic tropes so hard.
