I investigate rumours of a possible Spyro 4 and whether or not the game was teased in an artbook by  Activision. Enjoy!

Is Spyro 4 Happening?

My main question/concern is whether the issues going on at TfB regarding the sales of Crash 4 and the development of future Crash titles will have a knock on effect for the Spyro franchise too.

I always figured that the "Crash 4 Artbook Easter Egg" was purely indicative that someone who worked on Crash 4 would *like* to work on a potential Spyro 4... not proof that a sequel is actually in development! I think a lot of fans are equating their feelings that a Spyro 4 *should* happen with the idea that a Spyro 4 *must* be happening.

If it's alright to just throw my opinion out there (if it's not, lmk and I'll delete my comment), I would say I don't necessarily agree with some of the conclusions in this video. Croes is still bound by NDA, and given other stuff like how this art is accessible in the game, I think it's not necessarily safe to take his word for it. Obviously there's almost certainly no such game in active development - of course you reported Acti pushed TfB to COD along with every other one of their studios, & the artists inc Croes didn't get their contracts renewed. Still, I think this may have been more of a "jump the gun" scenario - some studio (maybe TfB, maybe not) maybe had plans for a Spyro 4, so this got teased, and then COVID happened and Activision was like "oops! all COD!"
