Jak and I go over the Smash Bros. Direct of January 2020 which unveiled Byleth as the final character in Fighter Pass 1. We also go over some recent rumours and plans for my next video, which have changed since the last podcast due to circumstances beyond my control (please understand).

I don’t think people will ever get sick of Smash reveals. Gotta remember that they even did this during the Wii U days for a good while. I think Nintendo see it too, it’s keeping so many gamers engaged and giving Nintendo such heavy attention when it happens. Jill Valentine would be awesome. She’s got some serious fighting skills and uses a guns. Perfect really! Also love the PushDustin appreciation! He’s been nothing, but super nice to me. I was super chuffed when he followed me last year.

Would have loved Claude but I’m super happy Three Houses is getting rep. And yeah I’ve never played as male Byleth

Claude could have been cool. He's probably the fan favourite of the Three Houses characters. Possibly? That one seemed to get a lot of love around launch.

Yes I agree. I think picks from other companies like Joker and Banjo are bringing more players to the Switch too.

I'm ambivalent to Byleth (really wish they had a weapon/stance changing mechanic), but I'm honestly way more let down by how boring the FE stage is. Over Christmas break, I went into my game collection and started playing the games I've only played once. So after playing through Mario + Rabbids, godDAMN what a freaking masterpiece. Seriously, one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while and I haven't even played the DK dlc yet. For the sequel, the thing that I really hope they do is integrate more Mario stuff with gameplay. I say this because for the most part, I feel like they could have really pushed the Mario world a bit more. The Chain Chomps and Boos effecting the arenas were cool, but besides those, pipes, and 4 Mario themed bosses were really the only Mario aspects that effected gameplay? Like fighting Mario enemies would be alright, I'm just hoping that they do more with the license, you know?
