Well, I've finally finished this. Here is your Patreon early access cut of my 32 minute docu-video on the history of iNiS and Nintendo's rhythm beat saga - the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! games and its westernised spin-off Elite Beat Agents.

Please enjoy and any feedback would be appreciated (please comment on the Patreon itself since the video link may change).

I may make some further edits before it is posted on DYKG in the future, so please don't share the unlisted link <3

Update 31/05/2019:

I have made a few minor tweaks to edits here and there to make the video flow better, including retiming and replacing certain transitions.

Not even a fan of rhythm games since I'm so bad at them but I *loved* this video and it's so interesting to see this stuff. Thanks for all the hard work, Liam!

Fantastic video. You can tell the developers really enjoyed making this game. Keep up the great work!

i think has become my new favorite video of yours man, its so good and really interesting, makes me wonder if DLC was prominent back in the DS days if that livin la vida loca song wouldve made the cut as DLC, or any of the other song ideas they had

LiamRobertson

High praise, indeed! Thanks very much. I don't think they would have had Livin La Vida Loca as DLC though since Yano-san and others have said it was licensing complications that held it back, which suggests they couldn't afford the song or the licensees simply didn't want them to use it or something like that.

This is one of the best and most comprehensive videos you've ever made, I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from it. The developers were clearly so passionate about what they were doing and you can feel it in the final product. While the big games and IPs are Nintendo's bread and better, these smaller quirky games from developers like INIS are just as worthy of love and praise.

Thanks Carson! I'm really glad you liked it, and you're right. The developers were awesome to talk to.
