this is a gentle but very real reminder that all of my content on this patreon page is NOT to be reposted elsewhere. i have tons of free content on youtube, but i am disgusted to have found out today that all of my patreon posts have been reuploaded onto an outside platform. if i do find out who is doing this, you will be removed from not only my patreon but all of my other platforms as well.

patreon is so very important for creators to have a more stable income while being able to generate more content for their audiences. when people reupload paywalled content, it hurts the creator. and when people look for it and find it, it hurts the creator even more.

please, do not do this. to me or anyone else. and if you see someone else doing this, remind them how wrong it is and that they need to stop.

Why doesn't patreon have a way to protect against this? Seems like a pretty major issue to literally every creator on here

At least for images there should be something, it would probably be hard to do something for audio. But I feel like these kinds of things are spread on platforms like discord

Its sad that people do stuff like that. I feel sry for your strawb. I hope there is a way you can contact someone to take the content down from this kind of pages. I will keep supporting you here cause you are a lovely person who makes amazing content.

Yea, I suppose it would be practically impossible to avoid at least a low quality audio recording from getting out. Anonymity on the internet really shows you peoples true colors, huh?

Because it is pretty much impossible to completely mitigate this... As long as there is a way to listen to the audio files for example then there is almost a way to save the files on your drive 🤷‍♂️ With the developer tools that are built into any modern browser for example you can simply get the session specific link to the file which is used to play it back in the browser... As soon as you have that you can simply directly access that and so save the file instead of playing it back.. There have been many attempts by Patreon/subscribestar/beatport/etc to get around this somehow but in the end you can't completely stop this.. (i know a lot about the topic because i tried to come up with a solution for this myself as i tried to build a site like that for another artist who is a friend of mine...)
