Big update for future IOS memberships 💗 (Patreon)

Hi cuties! I wanted to let you all know about something I was just informed of in my email this morning from Patreon!

In November, Patreon will start charging an IOS app store 30% fee on top of regular membership prices for new sign ups on iPhones. Please note that creators do not see ANY of this money, it goes directly to Apple. PLEASE don’t spend extra money, and join via the web/android! This will NOT affect any current memberships at all.

Here is the email I received from Patreon this morning:

Apple is requiring that Patreon use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024. This means that starting in November, new memberships purchased in the iOS app will be subject to Apple's 30% App Store fee.

First, we want to be clear about one thing: this will not impact your existing memberships at all. Apple's App Store fee only applies to new memberships purchased in the iOS app beginning in November 2024.

You will have full control over how Apple's fee is applied. You can either maintain your earnings by setting a higher price for new memberships in the iOS app (default) or absorb the App Store fee yourself (not recommended). You can control how Apple's fee is applied in your settings.

You don't need to take any action to continue earning in the iOS app. By default, if you don't do anything, your tier prices displayed in the iOS app will automatically increase to offset the Apple App Store fee. Your prices on the web and the Android app will not be affected.

We know how much you depend on Patreon, and understand how disruptive this change is. We're working to find every possible way to give you the control and stability you deserve throughout this change.

Also, I want to make it clear that you can use the IOS app, I just don't recommend paying via the app as it will make everything 30% more expensive.

Regardless of your current tier, I appreciate your support on my content. Patreon is a huge portion of my income, and is honestly the main thing that allows me to keep making ASMR roleplays as often as I do, which is why changes like this can be a bit scary to read about. I know this will probably discourage some people who see the prices when they go to sign up on iPhones, because they may not realize the prices are 30% higher. This is why I am trying to spread the word on this, because I also don't want you scammed by these ridiculous charges.
