Hey guys today I will be showing you how I made my Viera ears from FFXIV! This method was created by Kamui Cosplay!! I did some small changes but people still wanted to know how I went about it so here it is!

Materials

  • Worbla
  • Peel and stick felt (or regular felt)
  • faux fur
  • wire
  • eyeshadow/chalk
  • contact cement
  • scissors
  • razor
  • Heat gun
  • sharpie

Pattern

Here are the measurements I ended up with but feel free to adjust them

First things first is to take your pattern and transfer it over to some worbla

Cut out your base shapes from the worbla

For the ears I am using some peel and stick pink felt and small squares of faux white fur!

With a heatgun begin heating the middle part of the ears and slowly mold them into shape, you want them to have a slight curve to them but nothing too drastic.

Unpeel you peel and stick felt and slowly adhere it to the inside of the ears, if you don't have peel and stick felt you can opt for regular felt and glue it down with some contact cement.

Transfer your pattern to the back side of your fur, I also added an extra bit of seam allowance before cutting, that way the fur fabric could overlap atop the front of the ears borders.

Cover the outer part of the ear in contact cement and CAREFULLY place your fur along the ear, take your time with this.

With some hotglue, line the edges with it and quickly place the extra bit of fur on the edge atop of it.

You've got some REALLY fluffy ears now so its time to shave em down, with a razor begin shaving down the middle section of the ears but be sure to leave the base and the tips long, you do not want to trim these down parts down too short.

Much cleaner! To get the fibers more under control you can opt to spray a light mist of hairspray atop it and with your hand brush them down for a neater look.

I used some wire and bent it into a U shape and slid them between the fur and the worbla and glued it into place, this is how the ears will remain sitting atop your head and give it some balance. For extra stability, I recommend sewing the metal wires into place and sewing down the ears to the base wig as well.

To give the ears a bit more dimension I went in with some eyeshadow and hair chalk! Used your preferred colors and paint along the base of the inside of the ears at the tips for a nice look.

And there ya go! Bunny ears! If you ahve any questions please feel free to ask!
