Vote for Stuff! - Fanart or OCs? (Patreon)

Here's another vote that's pretty to-the-point. I enjoy drawing fanart  of popular characters and, though I often neglect them, I enjoy drawing  my OCs as well. A lot of artists (mostly on tumblr) maintain huge  followings just through the use of their OCs and that's honestly kinda  surprising. It would be fun to dedicate more time to my OCs, develop  their backstories and whatnot, and draw things that are more or less  reflections of 'me'.

I wouldn't ever stop doing fanart, but I  think using OCs allows an artist to be more invested in both the picture  itself and their audience's reaction to the picture. Me being the  anti-social butterfly that I am, I feel like I could find better ways to  communicate with you folks or just do fun things with you (maybe  requests) if I started incorporating my OCs as part of my online  persona.

Regardless of the outcome of this vote, I'm not going to  stop doing one or the other, I'm simply curious to see which one you're  more interested in and if you like the idea of me using my OCs for  audience interaction.

Would you like me to continue focusing on fanart or should I spent time to develop my OCs and do fun things with them?
