Home Artists Posts Import Register

Content

We already know about the Twitter situation so no need to reiterate things here. But by now you should also know that behind the scenes with us artists this have been in an uproar of uncertainty as new accounts are established and we try to migrate our content to other platforms. But more than just that, in the coming months there may be changes to both Patreon and PayPal that may fundamentally change how furry commission work is done on the internet.

Currently I have an under construction Subscribestar in my pocket just in case. But I also have a Pillowfort and my Furaffinity to reoptimize. And this speaks nothing of Mastadon which I'm still totally confused about.

But what exactly does this mean for the art? Because an unspoken side effect to changing platforms is a change in mentality that comes with it.

It might not be noticeable, but the art I drew for FA was different from the art I drew for Tumblr and different from the art I drew for both Twitter and here on Patreon. Yes we like to think that the art should stand on its own merits but anyone that's even vaugly familiar with the art world will tell you that the gallery can be more important than the works inside.

My art will too then experience a change if the worse comes to worse and we're forced to figure things out all over again. And depending on how bad that is, I may freeze my patreon fees for that month so you won't be charged for lackluster output.

KekeFlipnote actually alluded to this, and thats the prospect of taking a break. There's a rhythm to our output. A quota that we maintain to keep all of you happy. And this year, post pandemic, we've all been extra vocal about "sorry taking my first vacation in 3-4 years!". We artists desperately need to touch grass, but that unfortunately places the content that you've all come to expect on hold. Content that is required so that you'll keep supporting us. So do you understand? There's a very real fear that if we underperform even once, many of you will pack up and never come back, because we have the analytics to prove that.

And yet still. If Twitter dies. There may also come a quiet period for some of us as we need to pause and take things slower.

My own content has taken such a weird turn this year. Feet? Diapers? Pregnancy Manga? I might even pull a ModeSeven and just throw all of my weight into a single web comic. Although right now I don't know.

People are going to dissappear. New people will emerge. And the people who remain may change.

I may change. But I wanted to thank you all for supporting this current version of me. Everyone, thankyou.

If you have furry social media elsewhere, feel free to tell me in the comments. I'm trying to get a picture of where my audience is and where will it be going.
