In 3D I have a fairly realistic raccoon head, but I don't/didn't know what I was going to go with design-wise for the face. There was only the premise that it was an old man trapped/transformed within a fetish suit. So here is a breakdown of today's sketch session. Were this math class, this is the equivalent of showing my long division work.

At the beginning I started with "gasp!" *tracing*! Quick and simple so I could start getting a feel for the structure of the face. From the beginning I realized that the facial pattern made the iconic "OWO" and I wanted to see if I could keep that, but when I started adding some more delineations, the eyebrows became too good to part with; playing into the old man motif of having bigger eyebrows.

On the middle row you see where I experimented with wrinkles. I did potentially think of making more pronounced eyeholes, but ultimately I wasn't liking the shape of things, so I lifted the extremities and tried to round everything out. And when I saw that I'd drawn Rocket Raccoon I knew I was on the right track. I added a bit of secularity, and plumped them up with some more femininity. It was at this point I added a bun to the back of their head -I'm not married to it, but I felt that it gave them a some what grandmotherly look so I kept it around.

Then for the final row, I wanted to start to do some toyification, starting off by just erasing the mouth in a drone type fashion. And I was about to experiment with gas mask features but then I had the cheeky thought to try one of those drawn on smiles only to learn fairly fast that it wasn't as easy as it looks. As a consequence of my style I have to be extra careful to show that the mouth is 2D on 3D... on 2D.... What I ended up learning though that that the vertical "CalArts" style teeth really did wonders to make things look realistically fake. And now seeing as I was working on a 3 by 3, I finished it off by drawing the "intended" transformation of this rubber raccoon fetish suit.

So what do you think? 🤔

This is all subject to change, and I value your input no matter how crazy. (Ideally I'd like most of you to be fapping to this character some day) Chat at me in the comments.

As for this picture itself I think it works just as a standalone piece of art itself. Its iterative design. Its literally the voodoo that goes into every piece of artwork.
