I remember really liking this episode. Learning new world lore, getting more character goodies. Bringing the family together, finally. I really liked the new take on vampires. I'm a big fan of this genre, so I'd seen a lot of vampire stuff and I really liked seeing someone give it a new take. It made sense for me for it to be different for this show. I was really looking forward to seeing John and the boys actually working together. I wanted to finally see their character dynamics together and was looking forward to more of it.

How many bulletts do they have? Okay, Samuel Colt made 13, the hunter in the 1800s used six, John just used one. So wouldn't that mean they have six left? I don't remember if they mentioned it during this episode or the next one. It's hard to say if the vampires are "alive" or not. In most lore, they're dead once they get turned, but in SPN my guess is they aren't. Their human side doesn't really die, just transforms. So they aren't really dead until they die as vampires. Your argument might become confusing in the future, as you meet more and more different kinds of monsters, and new ways of dealing with them. And what about friendly monsters? If they meet a friendly monster and he/she/it dies during the episode, does that count? You might want to just make it a flat 'if it dies it counts' and leave it at that or you're going to drive yourself nuts trying to keep track.
