Wanton Cove:

Since I didn't have a big block of time on my hands today, I instead opted to work on the random events stuff again.  Managed to carve my way through four more locations, meaning that the day 5 replacements are done for about half of the locations that need to be done.

Tomorrow I'm going to have a few hours uninterrupted to work on things, so I'll be busy working on NPCs  at that time.

Still to do before the next release:

*Three more NPCs reworked. (I expect to complete this tomorrow)

*Second set of combat scenes for at least a couple of locations. (I hope to complete this tomorrow.)

*Backdrop art added to the first couple of locations within the game. (I hope to get this figured out by the end of the weekend.  Should only take a few minutes to do the rest of it once I get it working in one location.)

Should have a TEST build up once the first two items on the above list are done.

Inheritance:

Looks like the person who was helping with the code in Inheritance has gone AWOL on me.  It sucks, but its not as bad as it could be.  Basically, this means I'll be coding the navigation myself.  The result is that the code is going to be a little simpler.

The good:

*I can code it myself with only a little assistance.

*It shouldn't take me more than a week or two to get all of the navigation into the game.

*Even if I do it myself, there is a good chance we can add the additional detail we had hoped to include at a later time.

*While it will take some work to get the navigation in place, I actually hope to get that all done by the end of the month.

*Since I'm taking the reigns on the coding end of things, you can expect to hear more regular updates on the project.

The bad:

*I HATE coding.

*I had hoped to have a first release out by now.  Nearly all of the content has been written, it just needs to becoded into the game.  Lack of a coder working parallel to me has thrown a monkey wrench into things.

*Some of the detail we had planned wont be present.  We had originally intended to maintain a cleanliness for rooms individually, instead its going to be a blanket stat (If one room is dirty, they are all dirty.  Unless of course its a special scene.)

*Girls will be randomly generated to rooms through scenes they are linked to, or through you summoning them there instead of having them move through the house on their own.  (Seriously, you guys probably wouldnt have even noticed the difference from your end, but this was going to be keyed to the above bit where they would be in a room cleaning, then if you cama back a little later, you could see the results of their work.  Mostly flavor text stuff.)

Still to do before an official release:

*Navigation: I expect this to take about two weeks of work, but its hard to say for sure.  Could be more, could be less.  In other words, my goal it to have it ready to go by the end of the month.  I will be releasing a test build of this once navigation is in place for the sake of testing.

*Add girl related content:  I expect this to take two to four weeks.  Once its all in place, I'll be releasing another test build.  Once its been looked over for a week or so, I'll be making an official release.

Once an official release of Inheritance is live, I'll start alternating releases between Inheritance and Wanton Cove.  Ideally, one or the other will release every two weeks, but more likely it will be every third week like things are right now.  Time will tell.

Additionally, once the code for Inheritance is written, we plan to use the same mechanics for much of Living the Dream, so it should be very easy to get that game up and running when the time comes.
