The Allure of Wanton Cove: Art Breakdown (Patreon)

I received a completed piece of art this evening and decided that was good enough reason to do another art breakdown!  I know you've all been watching for it, . . . 

What I bring before all of you this evening is the piece commissioned for the fourth Dream, the one where the you see a female version of yourself  standing over the body in the alley.

And you guys thought that scene was just to mess with everyone?  How's that for a little foreshadowing?

I started by sending the artist the scene as it appears in the game, and the first sketch actually looked really good,

Overall, I really liked the image.  I asked them to lessen the frown a bit and move the figure back in the image to make room for the body on the ground, but otherwise I was very happy with how it was laid out.

The second one shows those two small adjustments I had asked for.

I thought everything looked good up to this point and asked the artist to continue.

The third image includes the initial coloring and the body outline.

I thought the coloring was really good for this one.  We did however have a good discussion about the body.  I asked that the skin flap over the face be made larger, reaching to near her ears and over the jawline.  I also asked that the hair be fanned out into more of a halo effect.  I also mentioned that the body was supposed to be a patchwork of several bodies sewn together.

This one included the modifications to the body I had requested as well as the coloring.

I thought that the whole thing looked really good.  I gave the artist the green light to add whatever final touches they felt were needed

Just a few minutes later, I received the final version of the image.

Was pretty happy with the overall feel of this one.  It will appear in the fourth dream sequence in the next build of the game. (I just finished dropping this and one other image into the game.  They will appear in next week's official release.)
