Alright, I posted something over on our Discord server yesterday, but I'm guessing that the bulk of you haven't heard about what's been going on.  I'll give the short version here:

Yesterday morning, my computer froze, then it refused to work after that.  Basically, it would power up but not load far enough to even run a system restore.  I spent all day trying to find a solution and came up short, and none of the local computer repair shops could work on it for about another week.

This morning, I went out and picked up a new computer.  Its an expense I was not planning for, but thanks to everyone who has supported me financially, and the fact I've been trying to sit a portion of that to the side each month, I was able to replace it with something very similar.

I lost a LOT of content during this episode that I've yet to be able to recover, but on the up-side (At least from all of your perspective), most of that was personal in nature rather than work related.  In all, I only lost about a day's worth of actual work. I'll be working Friday this week in an effort to make up for that.

My goal for today is to get all of my work related stuff back up to speed (Answer emails, get logged back into all the places I post my games, etc) and work my way back through the bug fixes I did earlier this week for Wanton Cove (Since I know where to find the bugs/issues, it should only take a fraction of the time to fix everything a second time.  After all, probably three quarters of my bug fixing time involves me poking around trying to find the problem.  Fixing it is usually quick in comparison. (Replied to the bulk of my messages already.  Got most of my program back in place and am already working on the bug fixes.  So making good progress on this front.)

All of my Inheritance work had been backed up for the most part, so that shouldn't be too bad on the surface.  Will need to get my game making programs all back in place, but I don't expect that to be too bad.  As such, getting Inheritance all up to speed again is my goal for tomorrow.

Friday will see a new build of Wanton Cove released, and likely include some writing time.

Hopefully this will be just another bad memory in a few days.

If all goes as planned:

-Will have a new build of Wanton Cove up on Friday.

-Will have a new TEST build of Inheritance up by the end of the week.

-Next week should still allow us to resume normal production again!

Ugh, that seriously sucks! I hope you're able to get your personal stuff back soon too.

Try to boot up your computer with a linux live-disk and see what heppens, it should boot up properly if it's the hdd that is busted, and if you can't boot up a live-disk succesfully, it might be a lot more serious

Thanks. The up side is that I've got my hands on all my "Work" related files (At least the important ones. Got some incomplete work for Inheritance I lost, but that's not going to be a big deal. Most of that was just outlines for scene ideas, and I'm sure I'll remember most, if not all, of those. And the art I lost should be retrievable since all I need to do is contact the artists who did them in the first place, Already gotten most of that back today even.) The "Important" stuff is mostly personal messages and contact information for some of the people I've worked with (Artists, Coders, and the like for these projects mostly.), family photos, and my porn stash, . . . and no matter how frustrating loosing the third might be, in the big scheme of things only the first two are REALLY important. Thankfully most of the people I lost contact info for are people I converse with regularly, so I can just message them to get it again. And while I'm sure I lost some pictures of the family, the best among them I have shared with family, so I can get some of those back as well. Basically, this is one of those situations where a person screams its the end of the world (And God knows it felt like it yesterday when I wanted to write!) but in reality things are pretty much back to normal again within a few days.

Tried that. Problem is that the thing would error out before any of the background stuff could even fire up. Couldn't run anything. Turn the computer on, stare at HP logo for half an hour, receive error saying root menu was unable to initialize or something along those lines. When I have some wiggle room in the budget again, I'm going to pick up what I need to create an external HD. Either I can retrieve my info that way, or if not I have an older computer I know the HD is good in and I'll turn that into one for the sake of backing up work related content anyway. Basically, from your perspective, I lost a day's worth of work. From mine, I'm running around like a raving lunatic with my blood pressure through the roof. :P My mind knows this is just a minor problem overall, my heart on the other hand still needs a little time to come to grips, . . . ;)

Sucks when that happens, if you need an external dock for the HDD I do have an extra floating around, just message me and I'll send it to you.

even if your computer died, if it wasn't a HDD failure you should be able to just put it into your new computer and run all the programs on it just fine (though you will need to update every shortcut) I have done that the past few times I have gotten myself a new computer and it works just fine for the most part +- a few programs that REALLY don't like that, like Steam, just thought you wanted to know in case you wanted those personal stuffies back

That's what I'm hoping is that the hard drive is still good. Someone was generous enough to offer an external HDD dock that is being sent to me. If the data is retrievable, then I suspect that will do the job. How I see it, the work stuff (Wanton Cove, Inheritance, Aftermath) is the important stuff right now, and I've recovered everything but some notes (Not a big deal) and still need to set up tweego (Which I hope to have some help with later today). Once that's done I should be fully back up to speed on this end. Comics, Games, list of items I'm looking for (Got a comic list, book list, etc) and similar stuff make up the bulk of my "personal" files, and worst case scenario that stuff is largely replaceable. If the HDD reader works for it, then
