Take on the part of a washed up detective as he sets out to unravel a mystery that continues to plague him. Delve into a world steeped in the Cthulhu mythos, heavy in atmosphere and a prevailing sense of foreboding. 

New build of The Allure of Wanton Cove is live!    Version .96 includes about 5k words of new content.  Including the Night 8 scene, new major scene on the waterfront on Day 9, new conversations, some minor rewrites, and other content.

does becoming a female or female deep one early on in the game like at day 1, day 2 or day 3 mess up the story or something? just trying to confirm a theory.

It shouldn't. There are a lot of scenes that are affected by those mechanics, but for every path through the game that is closed because of a transformation, another is opened because of it. Are there particular areas of concern? If so, I'd like to take a look to see if there might be a problem with whatever area(s) you think look off.

I've been wondering for a while, since the release numbers are getting closer and closer to 1.00, does that mean the game is almost finished?

Yes and no. The number tracking system is for the main story through the game. At 1.0, the game will effectively be complete, having a start and finish through the main path through the story. However, once the main narrative is complete, I will be turning my attention to many of the side stories that are planned for the setting (I guess you can think of them as DLC if that helps). So while the core game is nearing its completion, there IS a lot of additional content planned. Including the story of Azumi's origins, what really happened to the Pastor, learning more about the ruins on the island, etc. There are seven stories I want to do within the game still for sure (Stories will likely be event chains of 4-6 events each) plus maybe a dozen other smaller stories I'll do if people remain interested in the project. These are all things I had planned from the start of the project, so I've already placed plot hooks and such for their inclusion when I get to it.

well im just saying. even with the cheat menu that could instantly let you turn into a female some fears still cling to my mind. anyway, i hope its safe for the character to become female since arriving to wanton cove at the beginning via events. :)

my current fears are if i became a female deep one early on in the game some people would be scared of me, hate me, and bar me from the main story path. like the butler at the mansion and that one girl from the washed up body investigation.

The "Taint" which is responsible for the M2F transformation begins to build on itself over time. Once you have SOME taint you will gain additional taint every time you sleep, up to 5 points a night.

The Deep One mutation is still being worked into the story in places, but you are right, it does have a pretty substantial affect on how some people treat you. But at the same time, I am trying to ensure that for every path through the game that is locked because of things like that, that there is another opened to allow progression.

you're right. and i hope that once the games reaches 1.0 the main story can still be completed through any of the two forms. :) i'll try to do a female walkthrough on this game first at the very beginning via arriving by boat. if i see any problems, i'll let you know. <3

The game should always include paths to the ending. I've always been careful about that. As for the ending of the game, there will actually be several endings to the final scene of the game depending on the state of your transformation(s) when you reach the end of the game. Will be looking forward to hearing how your walk through goes.

Is there a limit to how many days players must complete the game or is day 9 the last day to achieve everything?

The game is still a WIP. I still have a LOT of scenes planned that can contribute towards M2F transformation, though with just me writing the game, there's only so much I create. I'l keep at it. Expect once 1.0 is out, for there to be a shift towards adding those kinds of scenes for at least a while. Once the main narrative is complete, I'll be fleshing out existing content and exploring some of the secondary stories that I've been leaving plot hooks for since the beginning of production. The game is intended to play out over a period of 10 days, at present Day 9 is where I'm writing as we progress through the game.

I am just curious but what is the condition to meet Azumi. I can never seem to find out where she is. Also, what are the conditions to meet the creatures from the water that cause the mutation effect? While testing events in the game, seem there is not many Depravity events. I would suggest probably introducing new Depravity events if the character has been turned into a Girl (Taint 100) and/or Mutation (100). It would make sense Depravity actions can be taken since due to the effects of the transformation the character become attracted to Depravity. If the Character is still Human Girl then they can prostitute themselves for more money, Mutated Boy can hunt for Human girls for reproduction, or Mutated Girl can hunt for both Human Male and Females for reproduction.

Azumi: Go to the mansion and meet her father. If he likes you, dialogue opens up to talk to him about her and he will let you meet her. Creatures in the water: Day count and the fight in the bad part of town is what triggers those. This falls under the category of things I intend to work on eventually. Right now, there are only a few ways to increase depravity. Prostituting yourself has come up several times. Its on my list of things to consider eventually, but it will require a lot of work when the time comes, and I'm more concerned with completing the main narrative first. The hunting for victims doesn't really fit with how I picture the main character in the story. That probably won't happen. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas.
