So, as any of you who have been following progress toward the next release knows, I've been spending quite a bit of time working on the Sleep function in the game.  When one of our coders provided me with a piece of code this morning to complete the function, so of course I plugged it into the game and had to give it a test play!

But this is there the problem kicked up.  See, there are four sleep events that SHOULD be keyed to going to bed with Anna, but for some reason only one of them was triggering.  When I asked one of our coders about it, we started to take a good long look at what might be causing this, and we discovered that I was consistently making a typo in the code that was preventing many of the scenes in the game from triggering properly.  My best guess is that this bug was affecting about 20% of all the ambient scenes, as well as one of the interactive scenes from the previous build.

The end result of this is that I spent about an hour digging through all the random events in the game and making corrections as needed.

Now, why is this awesome for you guys?  Well, this means that 30-40 scenes in the game (Mostly minor scenes, but at least one of the major ones as well) are in the game, but are simply never appearing during play because they are bugged.  That's been fixed.  In other words, Patrons will have access to MUCH more content than originally planned in the next game's update! (Lets just ignore that you've been denied a large number of scenes over the last 2-3 builds because of a simple typo.  For the record: Entirely my fault.  :P )  And for that matter, the time sensitive scenes (Which is the type of scenes being affected) are the more interesting scenes in the game.  ;)

Now, moving forward:

Tonight: Going to be wading back into this tonight in the hopes of getting at least one more of the interactive scenes that have been already written into the game.  If I have enough time left over after that, then I'm kind of getting the itch to do some writing, so maybe I'll have something to show for my time on that front as well.

Tomorrow:  Going to be a family day, so my time to work on things is going to be severely limited.  I'll do a little writing if time permits, but no promises.  That said, I hope to release the next Wanton Cove build tomorrow evening.

Friday:  Usually this is my family day for the week but since its been swapped out for Thursday this week, I'll be hard at work on projects instead.  Goal will be to deal with any bugs reported for Wanton Cove, then try to get at least one more significant scene into Inheritance before sending it to testing either Friday evening or Saturday during the day some time.

I wonder if that's why I was having so much trouble finding interesting stuff in the current build :)

Very possible. There was a bug in the Ball Room that was making it difficult, but not impossible to trigger two of the interactive scenes there. Then one of the two that appear regularly in the house was broken we learned today. So yeah, of the four major scenes added this last build, only one of them was working as intended, and two of the others were a bit scarce. Coming into the next build, I increased the frequency of the existing scenes, plus there should be three additional interactive scenes. Also putting the final touches on the sleep mechanic that will open up some new content while paving the way for future content as well.
