Figured we were probably over due for an art breakdown (I share them when I get them for the most part, doesn't mean I don't wish I had more to share!)

Today, I will be sharing a Driving image for Inheritance.  This is actually an interesting piece because its both complete, and not yet complete.  (Don't worry, that will make more sense later. ;) )

This first image is the sketch for the protagonist driving the car.  The plan is to use this image for the intro of the game where the character is driving up to the gate, but also to use this image later in development when we add the ability to travel into town and go other places.

Honestly, I liked it, and could not think of anything to change at the moment.  The protagonist will have been just arriving, so the nice shirt and tie would be fine in this case, though the image will likely be affected by other clothing options at some point in the future.

Now, on to the first inking.

Again, when the artist presented this image, I didn't have much to add.  Overall it looked pretty good to me.  I think this is the point where I mentioned that we'll likely want to mirror what's there for a wider image at some point in the future.  When just presenting the protagonist in the car, this image will be perfect, if traveling with one or both of the girls however, we'll want the whole car so they can be placed in it as well. (See, told you that statement above would start making more sense as we go along.)

The third one added a background to the image, and I felt it brought it together nicely for what we are doing.

Might need a little touch up on the car to add a bit of detail eventually, but otherwise I was happy with the result.

While this is a "complete" image as far as what we can use in the game, we will be creating additional variants of the image for things like driving in town (Replacing the woodland with buildings), adding one, or both girls to the vehicle (Each one sitting in the front seat individually, and each of them sitting in the back seat while the other is in the front.  Facial expressions and clothing options included.)  In other words, while this piece is usable, we'll likely be creating a half dozen or so additional variants eventually.

Hope that you guys enjoyed the new art!
