Content

A few days ago, I mentioned my sister-in-law was having her third kid.  At the time, I told all of you that any new pledges generated by this coming weekend would be used to help her out by buying her some of the things she will be needing for her new baby (Either through increases, or actual first time pledging) since she's not in a really good place financially.

As incentive, I told you that for every $50 generated from last Saturday through this coming Saturday (Tomorrow) I would share one significant piece of content for Inheritance with all of you.  After one of our patrons just made a generous increase to their original pledge (You know who you are.  Thank you!), it blew us past the $100 mark to justify a second scene being shared!  Looks like I need to put up!

As with the previous bit of content I shared, this is raw content, there's some code worked into the written content.  Not only does it show some of the simpler code that goes into the game, it should also serve to show the diverse range of behavior and content I hope to present for many of the interactive scenes that will appear in the game.

I hope that you all enjoy the scene!

\

For a little bit of context with the code:

Sample:  <<if $npcs["anna"]["trust"] gte 700>>

$npcs["anna"] = This indicates that Anna must be present in the location for this piece of content to play.

["trust"] = This indicates that this portion of the scene looks for the "Trust."

gte 700 = gte means that the game looks at the related stat, looking to see if the character has a value that is greater than or equal to the listed value.  If so, then that is the scene that plays, if not, it will check the next piece of code and so forth until the game finds a scene that the character's stats will allow.  It is not unusual for me to use checks within checks to help diversify and add depth to a scene.

<<else>> = This is typically a catch all for if no other conditions are met in a scene.

:: Anna Interactive Scene 1

You can see Anna working, stretching as far as she can as she attempts to dust a hard to reach piece of trim while standing on a short ladder.  As you watch, she begins to wobble just a little.

:: Anna Steady Scene 1

<<if $npcs["anna"]["trust"] gte 700>>Stepping close to her, you reach out, placing your hands on her hips to steady her.

<<if $npcs["anna"]["affection"] gte 700>>Anna glances back at me,  "Thank you,"  She says softly, a little color creeping into her cheeks before she can turn her face away.

She returns to cleaning, all the while you hold her hips, feeling the soft warmth of her body through your hands.

As she works, you start to think that perhaps she is taking her time, but then she looks back at you suddenly, just a hint of a smile on her lips, "Thank you, I am done now."

Holding onto her just long enough for her to take a step down, you finally let go of her.

<<elseif $npcs["anna"]["affection"] gte 400>>Anna tenses at the unexpected touch, but when she realizes its you, she seems to accept your presence.

"Thank you,"  She says, her eyes meeting yours for a second before turning her attention back to her job.

As she cleans, you hold her hips lightly, feeling the soft warmth of her body through my hands.

Its not long before she finishes cleaning and turns towards you again, "Thank you, I'm done now."

Holding onto her just long enough for her to take a step down, you finally let go of her.

<<else>>When you touch her, Anna lets out a startled little cry.  Her eyes just a little wide, she looks at you, "You startled me,"  She blurts, then quickly recovers, "Forgive me, I spoke out of turn."

"I should have said something,"  You admit, "I just wanted to steady you so you wouldn't fall."

You see her chest rise and fall as she takes a deep breath, "Thank you for your generosity in helping me, <<print $PlayerCalled>>."

Anna turns back towards the area she was cleaning, your hands coming to rest on her hips.  You can feel that she's a little tense, but she does not hesitate to put weight on you, trusting that you wont let her fall.

It takes her a few seconds to finish cleaning.  She takes a step down the ladder, then glances over her shoulder at you, "Thank you, I am done now."

Letting go of her, you step back so she has room to ascend the ladder.

"Just steadying you, it looked like you might fall,"  You say.

"Thank you,"  She says hesitantly, her eyes meeting yours for a second before turning her attention back to her job.

<<else>>When you touch her, Anna lets out a startled little cry as she nearly falls from the top of the ladder.  Her eyes just a little wide, she looks at you, "You startled me,"  She blurts, then quickly recovers, "Forgive me, I spoke out of turn."

"I should have said something,"  You admit, "I just wanted to steady you so you wouldn't fall."

You see her chest rise and fall as she takes a deep breath to calm herself, "Thank you for your generosity in helping me, <<print $PlayerCalled>>."

Anna turns back towards the area she was cleaning, your hands coming to rest on her hips.  You can feel that she's still a little tense, and she seems hesitant to lean in any way that you may have to support her, not entirely trusting that you wont let her fall.

It takes her a few seconds to finish cleaning.  She takes a careful step down the ladder, then glances over her shoulder at you, "Thank you, I am done now."

Letting go of her, you step back so she has room to ascend the ladder.

She returns to cleaning, all the while you hold her hips, feeling the soft warmth of her body through your hands.

As she works, it takes her longer than it probably should have because she was very slow to stretch to the furthest points of the trim.  When she finally finishes, she says "Thank you, I am done now."

Holding onto her just long enough for her to take a step down, you finally let go of her.

<<elseif $npcs["anna"]["affection"] gte 400>>Anna glances back at you, suddenly tense.  "Just steadying you to make sure you dont fall,"  You say.

"Thank you,"  She says, her expression serious as she turns back to her work.

<<else>>The second you touch Anna, she lets out a startled sound, pitching sideways on the ladder.

:: Anna 1A1

Moving quickly, you manage to catch her as the ladder crashes to the ground, "You ok?"  I ask.

<<if $npcs["anna"]["fear"] gte 800>>Trembling in your arms, Anna looks at you with wide fearful eyes.

You carefully sit her on her feet and let go, "I am sorry,"  She says, her voice shaky, "You surprised me,"  Anna can't quite meet your gaze.

"I was just trying to help,"  Your tone is even as you speak, "It does neither of us any good for you to fall off the ladder when you are cleaning."

"May I return to my duties <<print $PlayerCalled>>?"  Her voice is meek, hoding the faintest hint of a tremor.

You let out a little sigh, then gesture for her to get back to work.

<<elseif $npcs["anna"]["fear"] gte 500>>Trembling in your arms, Anna looks at you with wide fearful eyes.  After a couple of second, the fear seems to fade slightly as she gets her breathing back under control.

You carefully sit her on her feet and let go, "I am sorry,"  She says, her voice uneven, "You surprised me,"  Anna's gaze flickers to yours but can't quite hold it.

"I was just trying to help, it does neither of us any good for you to fall off the ladder when you are cleaning."  You say.

"Sorry,"  Anna says softly again, "May I return to my duties <<print $PlayerCalled>>?"  Her voice meek.

You let out a little sigh, then gesture for her to get back to work.

<<else>>Trembling in your arms, Anna quickly regains her composure.

"Sorry,  I should have payed more attention to my surroundings"  Anna says softly, "May I return to my duties <<print $PlayerCalled>>?"

You let out a little sigh, then gesture for her to get back to work.

:: Anna1A2

Seeing her starting to fall, you take a half step out of the way.

Anna hits the floor hard, a pained sound escaping her lips.

As she starts to stand, her eyes turning towards me, you speak in anger, "That is the appreciation I get?  I try to help you by steadying you on the ladder, and instead you hurl yourself to the ground rather than accept my touch?"

Anna seems to wilt under your hard gaze, her eyes firmly on the ground at her feet, "Now you need to pick up after yourself, polish this floor, //and// take care of the dusting you were in the middle of."

Her voice comes out as a meek whisper, "Yes <<print $PlayerCalled>>."

<<set _npcs["anna"]["stat"]["health"]["current"] -= 3>>

:: Anna Steady Scene 2

<<if $npcs["anna"]["fear"] gte 800>>"Be careful up there, you're no good to me hurt,"  You scold.  You can see Anna stiffen, nearly falling before she catches herself.

"Yes <<print $PlayerCalled>>,"  She says quickly, not quite able to meet your eyes.

<<elseif $npcs["anna"]["fear"] gte 550>>"You need to be careful up there," You say firmly, "I don't want you falling."

"Yes <<print $PlayerCalled>>, sorry to worry you,"  Anna says, her expression self conscious.

<<elseif $npcs["anna"]["fear"] gte 300>>"Careful on the ladder,"  You say in passing.

"Yes <<print $PlayerCalled>>, I'll be careful,"  Anna replies.

<<else>>"Careful up there, I don't want you hurt,"  You say lightly.

Anna pauses, glancing at you, "I'll be careful $PlayerCalled>>," She replies.

I've shared that particular scene with a small number of people, (Like I could count them on the fingers of one hand) and its a scene that I'm generally really happy with how it turned out.  Hope that you all enjoyed the scene!

There's no tf content in Inheritance, right? It seems popular in all the polls, but I guess the target demographic is much broader...

There is no TF content in Inheritance yet, though it is implied (For example, Eve looks younger than she really is because she has been modified. She's only a year or two younger than her sister.). There WILL eventually be extensive TF content, though it will be purely optional. The idea will be to allow full customization of pretty much every aspect of the girl's appearance as well as some control over their personality and behavior.
