I was thinking to myself earlier that while I've been giving a lot of little "This has been worked on a bit." or "That has been worked on a bit." style posts for this game for quite a while, I've failed to post anything that really conveys the big picture.

I'll start with what is happening right now with Inheritance:

-As of last night, I was talking with our head coder about the visual presentation of the NPC related content.  Now, I can't say for 100% sure, but in the past, when I've received these kinds of inquiries from the coder in question, that usually is a pretty good indicator that they've got most, if not all, of the mechanical elements done in the background of what they are working on and are moving on to actually plugging it into the game.  If I'm right, I will likely be seeing some kind of update from them in the next week or two at most.

-The artists are hard at work on the game.  Much of the art has been shared with our friends at the $5 and $10 levels here on Patreon.  The artist creating the background art at present has presented several completed pieces already which has me absolutely thrilled.  The artist currently working on the foreground images has presented several sketches for scenes related to the intro of the game as they do the ground work in preparation of finishing those pieces and pairing them with backgrounds.

-As for myself, I've been working on new content in the background from time to time.  I haven't written as much content for it in the last 10 months as I have for Wanton Cove, but I've probably managed about half as much, . . . which is still a pretty significant chunk of content.

\

Next up is a breakdown of what's been done so far:

In the game and playable:

-Intro: +21K words

-Mansion & Ambient Content: +17K words

In the game but not yet accessible:

-Clothing Descriptions: +7K words

-Events in game but not coded for use yet: 2K words (This is sleep & shower content.)

-Items in game but not coded for use yet: 1K (Mostly TF items and sex toys.)

-Anna NPC code: 2K (Current stat content, ability to move NPC from room to room, etc.)

And I probably have about that much more content written that is waiting for the code to support it before being added.  Much of that being interactive events, including the first round of sexual content, initial set of punishments, first set of meal time events, etc.

\

Finally, what we have planned coming up:

-Once the NPC mechanics are all in place, I expect it to take upwards of a month to get everything that's written already into the game.  Odds are that this will be done in stages while we try to add one type of new content at a time (Likely starting with interactive events, then moving on to the sex scene mechanics, then the rest of it)

-Between now and when the game enters a regular release schedule, I intend to continue writing content for the game.  I'll be alternating between Ambient content that can be added now, and Interactive content that will be added once the code is there to support it.

-Once interactive events are supported, I hope to move the game to active releases, alternating builds between it and Wanton Cove.  I have every intention of continuing to make a public release of one game or the other every 2-3 weeks as I have been doing in recent months.

\

So, hopefully you guys have a better understanding of where we are in the project now, as well as what we are looking at on the horizon.  We've still got a bit of work ahead of us, but we're inching towards our first interactive release of the game.  In the meantime, we'll keep plugging away at creating new content for the game!

Nice to see an in depth post about how Inheritance is going. I was starting to wonder if it was getting anywhere.

I feel the same ways sometimes. The last couple of months, I've probably been writing about 5-8k words of content a month for the game. This last week, I decided I'd been dragging my feet on it for too long, so I started sending out messages to light a fire under everyone involved, and got everyone back up to speed again. I'm eager enough to get the game active that I'm actually intending to start investing a little more time into it. I've also got plans to start a coding class soon in the hopes of learning enough to code the more complicated stuff myself if need be on the grounds that its already part way done. :D
