New build is ready to go.  Enjoy!


Changelog .85
-Fixed a host of spelling and grammar errors that were reported.
-Did several minor rewrites that were suggested by players.  Still got a few to work through, but make it through about half of the list.
-Fixed a bug that was making the forest encounter repeatable.
-Added descriptions for NPCs where appropriate in the "People" section of the case notes.
-New book entry.
-New journal entry related to the book.
-Did a rewrite of a minor scene in the Barmaid's Daughter.
-Found and fixed a bug where you were being prompted to check into the Barmaid's Daughter when talking to Nadia, even after you had checked in.
-Wrote and added 2 new scenes for the Cathedral.
-Wrote and added 3 new scenes for the Trail.  One of those is dependant on the day.
-Wrote and added 1 new scene for the hallway leading to your room.  Your current Depravity level affects how the scene plays out.
-Updated special thanks passage with patrons from relevant levels. (6/15/17)
-Added about 7k words of content to the game, taking the total word count up to more than 218k.

Was a game breaking bug during character creation. Has been fixed and file has been replaced in this post.

Bug: Trying to unravel the books mysteries (revealed by brawn application) gives error "Error: child tag <<elseif>> was found outside of a call to its parent macro <<if>>" before the body of the books first-read text, "Error: child tag <<elseif>> was found outside of a call to its parent macro <<if>>" above the second block, and "Error: child tag <<elseif>> was found outside of a call to its parent macro <<if>>" above a third text block I think it just revealed all the text you can discern from the book on the first day</if></elseif></if></elseif></if></elseif>

In the shack by the docks the fisherman refers to you as "John" even though I changed the PC name?

Looks like a fairly simple bug to run down. Will do so as soon as I have time (Going to shoot for a bug fix build over the weekend to resolve any reported issues.)

Thank you, which scene specifically is this triggering for? The first meeting with Cobb? Or somewhere else?

Where's the fun in that? Seriously though, I have three days most weeks (Sometimes four) where I can potentially work on projects to my heart's content. I try to invest 6-8 hours into this two of those, and spend the third with family. The reason that I'm not working on this today to get the bug fixes all in place is because I already promised that today is my family day.

Ok... I give up... How do you get to the Cathedral? I swear I've done every combo of talking to people and having my stats in various places for literally weeks now, and I still haven't managed to get there.

Thank you! So, the thing I was missing was going into my inventory and reading the book. I guess I sort of expected something with it to show up as an option elsewhere. For example, when you get the book from the church basement, there's a new option to read it in your room. So I figured that it at the flashlight were just things you'd have on hand that'd then open up options later. So that's where I was going wrong. Alright time to go check out that cathedral.
