...Sometimes we went to the seashore together. On one of those days, he told me that his daughter liked to feed seagulls with bread on the banks of the piers they’d been to. She believed that gulls bring them good luck on the way. It became a sort of a tradition for them. The first thing they would do on arriving to a new town was buying a large loaf of fresh bread and feeding it to the port birds. But after his wife died - he no longer believed in luck, and when his daughter followed – he had forsaken the gods.
No. We have not fed seagulls together. It all seemed too personal and I didn’t want to play with his feelings, but sometimes we simply went to the seashore to look at the horizon. He thought about his loved ones with a silly smile on his face. Nowadays I think about him sometimes with a silly smile on mine.
