To go a bit deeper into Ushiwaka’s desire to crush Hinata. It’s clear that Ushiwaka doesn’t judge a player by his height, referring to the “small yet skilled players” he has faced. I think he has a ton of respect for people who polish their skills that much, with their hard work being distilled into results. Then Hinata comes in like a car through a wall without that same image, all piss and vinegar, and Ushiwaka sees him as a fool. Generally when we think someone is a fool, we expect them to fade into their foolish obscurity and fail at life, but Hinata just has a way of making himself heard. Ushiwaka greatly respects people who succeed in the sport with distilled talent and hard work, so I think he almost sees Hinata as blasphemous to that image of those players. He believes that someone like Hinata SHOULDN’T be able to succeed. Like you said he’s a threat. This probably treads on a lot of the grounds you already plodded on in the video, but I just wanted give how I interpreted it.
