Totally just a personal recommendation here, but also taking into consideration your usual appreciation for dubs. I know there are 2 separate dubs, and if I’m not mistaken, it’s Netflix’s version that’s the bad one. However, you should try to check out the good dub of the next episode (on your own time at least). Child Thorfinn’s voice actor was honestly damn impressive for me in it

No lol. I made it very clear that it was a personal recommendation and for him to do it on his own time, if he so chooses. Never told him to switch versions or claimed that any was better than the other. Also, did either of you watch his reaction to the MHA OVAs? He literally let out a sigh of relief and said, “oh man it feels good to be watching a dub again for once in awhile.” So it’s very obvious that he enjoys and appreciates dubs, so idk why you’d be upset over me just suggesting that he check out something he’ll probably enjoy on his own time.

@Brandon I haven't seen the dub but i'm not sure I agree. I'm a huge fan of voice acting but I don't think it really shines in this show. Don't get me wrong it's good, but I wouldn't say it's what makes the show good at all

I'd say the voice work absolutely does shine, but I 100% agree that it's not the reason the show is this good. It helps, but I was reading the manga years before the anime came out, so in all honesty I'd say Vinland Saga is a masterpiece even if you watch the whole thing on mute. That said, the voice work being fantastic complements the story extremely well

Yeah, shrooms don't hit you right away. Although the shrooms I've eaten were presumably not the same ones, but anything you have to digest is gonna take a minute to start hitting you. Also a big reason people end up eating too many weed brownies (or any edible) and then they're on the moon for the next, like, 4 to 12 hours - you get impatient waiting even if you already know better, and then boom, you've ordered five pizzas and your day now consists of thinking deeply about how beautiful old fashioned doorknobs (and/or femboys) are

Just to be clear, I DO think the voice acting is fantastic and appreciate it as much as the next guy. I just also happen to find good dub voice acting enjoyable as well. So considering that Goodwin feels the same way I do about that and the fact that it was already guaranteed he’d watch this episode subbed and experience this cast’s voice acting, I just suggested he check out the dub as well in his own time since I found that cast to be fairly impressive and enjoyable too. I understand that not everyone enjoys dubs and that’s fine, I’m not here to argue with or convince anyone on that front. Simply recommending something to check out from 1 dub enjoyer to another. So the discussions about which version is better or anything like that, is kinda irrelevant here
