To Your Eternity coming soon as well

Jacob Keyser

I think Kyo is the best person in the show

Francesca White

just so you know, the name they said it was forbidden to talk about was Ren, it's very close to Rin in sound but yeah, keep that in mind lol

Francesca White

just to clarify, some of what Yuki said was out loud and some of it wasn't, so he didn't tell Tohru he was the one with the hat or anything

Francesca White

man i forgot how great this episode is, because there are some way "bigger" and "flashier" ones later down the line, but this episode i think truly encapsulates the overall mood and theme of season 2, the way it really takes what we had in season 1 and builds upon it, adding more nuance and complexity than was already there

Megan

I love how Kyo is so in-tuned with Tohru’s emotions. He was about to see that she was upset right away and then gave her the space to open up about her feelings.

Megan

Yuki’s character journey feels so personal. Him striving to open up is something deeply relatable to me. The end scene of this episode is one of my favorite moments in the show. It helps that the animation is stunning.

Megan

The names definitely confused me the first watch through

First comment on any of your videos but, I was moved by what you said about the older man playing badminton and how you related it to Tohru's actions during that scene. I've been feeling pretty down and lonely lately, mostly because I am living alone for the first time and other factors, so I have been thinking about my impact on other people and just feeling, like maybe, I'm just invisible to others and I don't give anything of value to others. However, what you said really made me think about those small actions I have done that left an impression on others. Even if I never notice it, it doesn't mean that it hasn't happened and just that thought gave me some comfort. Some comfort that maybe I'm not as invisible as I think I am, that I am giving value to others in some capacity even if I'm totally unaware of the effects. So thanks, I kind of needed that. I love all the commentary you give and the ones you've given on Fruits Basket have really stayed with me.

Yuki's scene never fails to give me chills!! Love it! Now hyped for ep 9!!! Also FYI .. in dub he says I can't do without you...but literal translation and in sub he says You are very precious to me!! I love both the lines as they emphasise tohru's influence in Yuki's heart ❤ 💙

Ietseatapples

Just so you know, Ren and Rin are two different people. The name shigure mentioned this episode was Ren. A character yet to be revealed

Crystalrose

Random moment that made me cry during this reaction was seeing momiji's face after he thought of tohru and said "someones waiting.." .... i have never cried at that scene ever so it feels so random now.. but i think it goes to show how much anguish all of the characters are going through when they have to deal with akito :'( Also i love Yuki's ending line (original dialogue) "you are like the sky.. so precious to me" I just think its really beautiful.

Athena

you leaving this comment impacted me! I feel very inspired reading your comment. I like to go through life and take things people say and write them down in my notes app to revisit later. What you said sounded very poetic and beautiful to me and I appreciate and see you :)

agoodwintv

Every scene in this episode is full of energy and life to me, even if just through dialogue and who was in the scene. A lot of that is from what the show spent time building I think

agoodwintv

I'm really glad! It's one of those things... people won't always be able to articulate what we mean to them and the negative has a way of standing out more clearly and taking more mental priority since it's more of an immediate threat. But the good stuff is all there too. If I ever see that guy again I'm gonna tell him about this video haha

Fabiola Macias

Yuki’s personal journey throughout Fruits Basket will never not be incredibly inspirational to me (or fail to make me sob)

Thank you for the kind words Athena. :) I wasn't expecting to get such a reply. I'm glad I was able to inspire you in some way.

Thanks Alex! Yeah... I totally know what you mean. I tend to be in my head a lot, I'm also incredibly self-conscious so I have a tendency to observe my surroundings a lot. Unfortunately, as you said, my mind wanders to the negative things which drowns many of the positive things. I do try to reflect though, find those good that I neglected to properly see.

Ramflo

This is so true. At first I did not really connect with his character, but seeing all these little insights and feelings he has, reminded me of myself and when I was a shut in or nearly mute in many situations. This show really made me fall in love with so many characters.

Brimmy

OH so i wasn't that far from yuki's backstory ep.... Akito's a bitch \yes\ he censored what happened to his mom and it.....oof god he's so cute i love him and whoever keeps drawing him like that needs a fricken raise there's the Ren Rin confusion XD...it might happen again later on with a diff pair of characters btw...unless u catch it...u might cuz it took me hearing it 3 separate times to be like \wait what??\ Ahhh i had an ear worm, knew Akito sounded familiar Colleen Clinkenbeard is voicing him, she voiced Riza :3 YUKIIIIII precious boi ;-;

benj

Forgot this episode happened so early in the season, total masterpiece of a episode right here, that ending credits scene playing over Yuki’s monologue is *chefs kiss*. This is a top 10 episode in the show so far easily, maybe even top 5. Best of Season Two so far as well.

Nick

Kyo has been my favorite since he was introduced mainly because I could relate a lot to him. But now it's on another level, he's gotta be one of my favorite characters from any story

Nick

This episode was definitely one of my favorites so far. Every scene with Akito makes me feel sick to my stomach, so props to the creator of Fruits Basket because I have never seen such a convincing and successful attempt at making a manipulative character.

Nick

Like, even though this story isn't action filled or full of dread, when Akito is on screen I can genuinely believe anything horrible might happen. Akito could literally stab one of the zodiacs and I wouldn't even be surprised. It keeps me on the edge of my seat because I care about these characters so much.

Nick

And to add another level to that, part of me feels like an attachment to Shigure because he's out here trying to manipulate the manipulator. He's standing up to Akito in some sort of way, and even though he's shrouded in secrecy and definitely freaking me out, I feel comforted by his presence as well? It's so damn weird. Shigure seems like the only person who would be able to go up to Akito and just say "you are human garbage," with no regrets if he had to. Idk if anyone else feels this way. No matter what Shigure does he instantly gains points with me for acknowledging how bad Akito is and openly being against it

agoodwintv

YES I feel the same way when Akito is on screen. I think that is one of the most impressive things the show has done so far. Akito really hasn't had that much screen time but nevertheless is always looming large over the whole thing. And I also get what you mean about Shigure. I'm sort of reserving judgement cause it will be important just what he actually does, but there's lots to love... he's obviously courageous managing to be this outwardly relaxed all the time despite the challenges he's taking on... he's clever, funny, but also insightful and helpful to the kids when he sees an opportunity.

Nick

Okay wait wait... just realizing Kyo telling Tohru his mom died in an accident because he doesn't want to say she killed herself probably strikes a chord with Tohru considering her own mom died in an accident. And then if you add in the whisper Kyo gave her about being sorry last season, idk it just feels weird. That's probably not the best version of what happened for Kyo to switch to
