I've been super behind on the channels vids, I think I'm still at fruits basket 2x1 and the MHA video. But it's because I've been watching Vinland saga and I just finished it like as (or very close to when) this video dropped in a strange coincidence. And I have to say, if you can handle darker shows, I highly highly recommend that anime. The ending blew me away, in 24 episodes has made it onto my top list

Nick

I know this isn't related to fruits basket Ijust had to get that off my chest like I just finished watching the last episode it was incredible

they actually changed the line where Kyo smacked Tohru's face from the sub, i actually prefer the Japanese. in the sub Tohru said "that made such a satisfying sound..." and Kyo said "you wanna hear it again?" lol

Francesca White

yup, we saw Kazuma's grandfather locked up in a flashback, and now we learn that's where Kyo is meant to go as well....

benj

Shigure driving his assistant to complete madness will never stop being absoutely hilarious. Such a great run on joke.

Megan

Yeah Kyo’s dad actually told Kyo that his mothers suicide was his fault. It wasn’t just Kyo’s own guilt making him thing that every one was blaming him. People around him were actually saying that, which is really messed up

Crystalrose

When Tohru cries... I cry:'(.. It's so hard for me to see tohru sad or in pain and this episode always reminds me that she's still a young person trying to make her way in the world too. Especially with the loss of her mother and not having a dad.. I can understand feeling extremely unprepared and scared for the future.

benj

I could watch the main four have slice of life shenanigans in Shigure's house forever, the emotional moments of dialogue between characters juxtaposed with Shigure being absoutely hilarious is pure gold. Overall, my favorite part of the entire show is the main four characters and everything that goes on at the iconic house, not that everything else isn't great obviously.

I first read the manga when I was in middle school and Shigure’s words have stuck with me throughout my life since- I rewatch/reread this part whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed about the future.

agoodwintv

Honestly it's great advice. It starts off with him saying not to think about problems and then launching on a laundry metaphor, but it ends up feeling right haha

Athena

I relate very much with the anxiety Tohru expresses this episode. It can feel so overwhelming looking at everything you need to do all at once which can trigger an anxiety attack. Anxiety makes you feel so helpless and crazy. That everything you do is insignificant and nothing will change whatever you may decide to do, but listening to Shigure's words, you need to take it one step at a time. Grounding yourself in reality is what makes that anxiety go away. What are you doing in this moment, right now? Eventually, all the work you put in will come to fruition if you keep at it and try not to do everything at once. Kind of reminiscent of MHA with the idea that the future is not set in stone and we have the power to change our future!

BubbleTea

I like your little walk dance to the opening LOL

Nyashaxo

"Is this his father? NO! I just spoke highly of you."- the continuation of shows continually making you take your words back. Also finishing this reaction, I realise you would be perfect for Haikyuu!!

benj

Just finished the first season of Haikyuu and its absoutely amazing. I love Hinata, Oikawa, and Noya so much. I agree it would be a great fit for Goodwin but its also a crazy long sports anime so he'd be watching it forever.

Nick

I feel TERRIBLE for saying this but I laughed so hard at Tohru tripping and falling on the floor when they entered Kyo's masters house (I don't know his name and I'm currently in the process of watching the episode)

Nick

Also, Shigure's new book is called In the Moonlight with a moon on the cover. In last seasons second ED, his character/zodiac dog is shown staring off at the moon if I recall correctly. I think it's the same moon phase too in both I'm guessing the moon has some deeper significance to him

Nick

...So Kyo and nobody else seems to know Shigure's sleep schedule, we have never seen Shigure sleeping, does this man just go stare at the moon at night or something? On another note, Kyo didn't even flinch when Tohru shook his bracelet. The growth and bond they have is really amazing to see in this season so far. He seems so much more healthy. I also related his and Tohru's anxieties. Shigure's advice was... actually great. Just a fantastic episode, I'm liking this season a lot

Nick

Yuki's dub VA is way better so far this season, Kyo's too. I noticed this watching the last video on Fruits Basket, he seems like he has a way more solid grip on the character

agoodwintv

I wish there was a way to read Shigure's book. Assuming he actually writes them himself.
