This show is full of characters admiring each other for the things they feel they themselves lack. Midoriya admired Bakugo's strength, Amajiki admired Mirio's confidence, Nighteye admired All Might's humor. You would never imagine in season 1 that Kirishima actually really looks up to Ashido. He seems to be someone that only values strength, and he's probably stronger than her at least 1-on-1. What he admires is her strength of spirit and bravery, which is something he struggles with.

Kirishima is one of my favorite characters from his motivations and he seems so human compared to a lot of the other characters who are just not scared cause hero things. It brings depth to how someone whose scared can be a hero and why. Also I love how in every epic battle moment you always just go: "Haha nice"

Fun fact. Deku passed the entrance exam with only rescue points. Bakugo passed with only Villain points And Kirishima had a balance of 39 villain points and 35 rescue points. He is a really good balance of someone in between Deku and Bakugo.

Our skinny legend, Skinny Gum lol He is such a good mentor for Amajiki and Kirishima. I feel like both boys needed him to break out of their shell more, Amajiki being shy and Kirishima having a lack of confidence and "chivalry." We were able to see both overcome their weaknesses back to back!

In a show full of really giving teachers, Fat/Skinny Gum still manages to stand out as someone who so deeply appreciates the spark his students have and who is able to give immense amount of praise and admiration despite being in a role "above" them.

I really love the theme the show has with the kids all inspiring each other, here we have Mina inspiring Kirishima, we have Deku being inspired by Bakugo (and kinda the other way around, too), we have Uraraka inspired by Deku, Momo by Todoroki, Todoroki by Deku and many more, it is just nice to see the kids always motivating each other. I personally really love that aspect.
