Yay, been waiting for this episode! :) One minor thing you missed in the last one: The man inside the monkey titan was actually name dropped by the other intelligent titan as being called "Zeke"

Khalid

Oh god i’m not ready for this

agoodwintv

Due to a bunch of requests, 3x16, 3x17, & 3x18 are all gonna be posted today. 3x17 should be up in about 30 minutes, 3x18 might be a bit longer (not uploaded yet). Since all 3 episodes are going up today, I figure I can do an OVA for Thursday's video, and then have Saturday be the ATLA rewatch only. Let me know what OVA you think would be best to watch this week!

sasageyo :’(

DennisAnimeFan

Wow that's just awesome! I think the best OVA to watch would be "Lost Girls" for sure!

wow, this pro-viewers moves is why i'm here on patreon, thank you so much for the triple upload!!

I love that in every language whether it's sub dub or the original, Connie's joke about Eren's house is just absolutely dumb and corny For reference, the original Japanese is a joke on how the word for "house" (ie ga) sounds like Yeager, so saying "Eren's house" just sounds like you're yelling his name. In the dub, they change it to "Looks like Eren finally has his roof over his head again!"

Anonymous

oh yeah to clarify, the reason why connie laughed in the beginning was because he made a pun. He said “eren no ie ga” which translates to “Eren’s house” in Japanese, which sounds like “Eren Jaeger”. And then, as connie does, he laughed like a maniac. Love him

Ramon Cintron

Not a Minute too late I've been waiting all day!

If you watch Lost girl's OVA do not watch the Mikasa portion as it has spoilers for the manga.

a. tree

That's absolutely ridiculous it was released and animated before whatever you're referencing was even storyboarded?? Perhaps you mean foreshadowing

hays collins

That’s what great about this show. It is a finale for what you know but then they cram a whole crap load of info down your throat and starts again

Anonymous

This is definitely a wrong place, wrong time to say this, but the platypus titan guy rolling the ball for the Beast Titan to throw was really cute (timestamp - 5:43)

malikparah

We can see Kenny's words in effect with Erwin here as he said that everyone has to be drunk on something to keep moving on and the basement was what kept Erwin going all these years to the point where he's seeing the dead comrades he supposedly sacrificed to get there around him. Also I highly recommend checking out erwin's final speech in dub. One of the few moments where the dub surpasses the sub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWhQdt-FafY (probably avoid the comments tho) it's the same VA for Scar and Iida so you know he's got the skills Meanwhile Zeke is just doing some stress relief by practicing his pitches. A perfect game isn't easy to come by

a. tree

I just gotta say, this is an absolutely emotionally BRUTAL set of episodes to watch back to back, major props to you

R'Mani Leavell

When I first watched this episode, my mentality was "I would hide behind the houses and wait Levi to kill the beast titan". Then I heard Erwins speech and I was ready to hop on a horse

Anonymous

now there are TWO BIRDS!!! what does it MEAN!!!

Anonymous

Erwin's speech made me want to charge to my death with him

Aura Y

This might be hyperbole, but I think it's that strong. The Erwin's speech shall forever go down as one of the most moving and powerful speeches in show history! As you stated, he really was the "light" in a world so full of darkness. He was deeply compassionate, but was willing to give up so much for the sake of humanity and his cherished comrades. His sacrifice, his dreams will live on!

Anonymous

Confirmed! Beast Titan is America

Megan

Yes Erwin’s dub speech is absolutely amazing!

Anonymous

"Everyone was a slave to something". Erwin was a "slave" to his pursuit of the truth, but in his final moments, broke free from his dream and gave his life to give humanity a chance. R.I.P Erwin the Goat Smith

Jo

You know, I honestly didn't expect you to be AS accepting of Erwin's death and plan to sacrifice himself, but I really do love how you put it all together. And honestly, I do think this is the only way he could ever go out.

Ramon Cintron

The Erwin scene always gives me chills from start to end.

Henry Law

We don’t deserve this. Thank you so much!!! 😭

KJ Gaona

This scene at the end still has me in tears each time. Erwin has always been my favorite character :'(

Neubaufahrzeug

I gotta give respect to my man Erwin. The ability to give up your lifelong dream when it's that close is something I know I couldn't do Especially when someone gives you an out. Levi was willing to bite the bullet and Erwin could then bide his time to go back and discover the truth but instead, he offered the solution to what they could do to win. Even though it was Levi who made the final call he still put himself in that situation and accepted his fate.

War2244

I was about to explain the joke if I didn't find someone else posting it lol.

Khalid

"We die trusting the living to find meaning in our lives" man this line always gets me );

Nick

Alex you have no idea how nice this is for my night. I'm nearing graduation next week and I'm very stressed. This was just such a great surprise, thank you for making great content

Anonymous

Even though it was sad the fact that Erwin went out on his own terms made it super satisfying. Died as he lived

Anonymous

ooh baby a triple

Anonymous

Omg omg omg

agoodwintv

Haha yeah it was a lot... I at least watched 3x18 separately due to time constraints

agoodwintv

He put it so well in such a short speech. The idea of not folding to the cruel world... having responsibility to those in the past... putting faith in those in the future. Unbelievable

agoodwintv

Truly the GOAT. Another way of looking at it is that he became a slave to something bigger than himself, but either way he died free.

agoodwintv

Part of it is that I wasn't quite sure how it would end for him. I thought it was possible for things to go badly, but ultimately it feels like he defied even the laws of the show lol

agoodwintv

For sure. As I said (maybe in the next episode) for me the death is very sad but it's not a tragedy. It feels like he made it... if that makes sense. He lived up to the trust everyone (including the viewer) placed in him

BubbleTea

UGGGHHH Erwin's speech. Chills man, chills. Seriously, could anybody else have the charisma to lead people to their deaths.

Christian Medeiros

he listened!!! the mad lad Alex, thanks for the triple upload.

SirLagginton

Connie's joke is weird to understand, it's something to do with house in japanese sounding like jeager and he makes a joke about it with eren's last name.

Anonymous

"Are we all heading to our deaths?" Erwin: "soda"

Itachi The Rouge

Finally got home from work. Loaded up patreon, and see episode 18 at the top. I thought I was losing my mind I could have swore we watched 15 last. Lo and behold ALL THREE. Looks like I’m staying up late tonight 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anonymous

I've been waiting for you to get to these episodes ! exited to see your reactions !

Shark-ira

Erwin's speech is one of my all-time favorite moments. It was so good!

iaani

Waking up to 3 episodes is nice :)

Anonymous

good way to end the day

Anonymous

in no regrets when erwin and levi first met, levi was forced to kneel in the mud as a prisoner; and now at their parting levi kneels before erwin willingly out of pure devotion and honor and respect and every time i watch this episode that conversation on the crate never fails to hit me like a mountain of bricks.

jdthebud

Nice, ending with a wholesome cat video to cleanse the palate. :)

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

The sad thing is, that on some level Erwin still thinks his inspiring speech is all lies that he has to tell the recruits to lead them to their deaths

Anonymous

Thank you for the triple upload :)

Anonymous

Need more cat!!

Tough to catch if you don't speak Japanese, but Connie didn't just randomly burst out in a fit of laughter at the beginning - he made a pun! It just doesn't carry over in translation. The houses are falling from the sky, and Connie asks if one of the falling houses could be Eren's - "Eren no Iye Ga", which sounds like "Eren Jaeger". Then he gets smacked since its no time for jokes lol

Stefan

"At this point, the horses are like: whatever" - Got me cracking up

Yusuf

And it made sense as well since he says that we are all dying anyway (such as of old age, heart attack, cancer, etc). So might as well die fighting for a greater cause.

Phenomenal episode. Since you started the series I’ve been waiting for you to get to this. This speech by Erwin is stuck in my memory. Something about this really relates to real life. I think on a few occasions I’ve found myself questioning the meaning or purpose of my own life after losing someone close to me. But after reflecting, I feel like Erwin is right. It’s the living who give meaning to the dead, and you wouldn’t say about your lost loved ones that their lives were meaningless, despite feeling like your own life might be. Each person’s life is like a rock cast in the ocean, causing ripples that spread out and eventually create waves in the lives of others.

It just be like that zzz

Just got back home from a trip and you've got 3 AOT videos I can binge lmao

It's a double edge sword. Triple episode is amazing, but now I'm gonna feel empty until Tuesday.
