I decided to do Ilse's Notebook as an extra video. Although I said I was about to watch it in this video, I haven't had the chance yet, but I will release both that and episode 2x2  on Thursday. 


I'll do the same for No Regrets but not exactly sure when, since that seems less time sensitive.

I always had the questions of how humanity was able to create those massive walls that appear to have no cracks or lines that indicate the use of bricks. it doesn't seem like the tech of this era is that advanced as well.

I think you've got it, but just to clarify about the whole time rewind situation/why the 104th were in the castle unequipped, that scene took place at the same time as the sting against Annie. The Corps knew that at least one person helped Annie kill the captured titans (which could be anyone from just an informant to one of the other intelligent titans we've seen), and the most suspicious are her friends from the 104th cadet training corps. Erwin selected Armin, Eren, Jean-Jean, and Mikasa for the operation because he was certain they were clear, and had the rest of the 104th under surveillance at the castle to test if Annie's allies were in the group (which is also why they were unarmed). Since this took place at the same time as the fight, this also means that none of the rest of the 104th know that Annie has been revealed as the Female Titan and captured. But in the best case, Erwin's suspicions are wrong and the 104th are clear, like Miche said...

Monke! SHINZO SASAGEYOO!!!! The reason the recruits were not given time to gear up is because there gear wasn't there. Erwin had the entire 104th recruits put there on watch just in case there were more titan shifters in that class.

My favorite ending!! the creepiest one by far, but the art style and song fit the aesthetic of the show so well. This season is incredible btw. I can’t wait to see more of your reactions!

Great reaction! Love the analysis. You mention the red scarf, and I didn't even realize it until it was pointed out to me a few weeks ago, but the scarf is actually in the ending credits. There's a lot to that ending, visually.

Ah, the Beastie boy. I am so exited for this arc coming up- some good development for the "side" characters, good action, great art, and amazing soundtracks. With a 4 year jump in production time, as well as a huge jump in budget, this season is the 1st of many visual spectacles to come. I am very hyped to ride along this one with you! This is also my favorite ending! It's also rife for analysis if that's something Alex is interested in; there's a ton of interesting imagery that hints towards the lore of the show. It's by the band Shinsei Kamattechan, which also recorded the season 4 opening and is apparently notorious for making really cool and trippy music.

Entertaining reaction as always - love your baffled expression when the frame is just hanging on the Best Titan, aha. I'll echo a few other peoples sentiments (my personal experience as well) that the second opening to season 3 is Actually spoilery. For the previous one you didn't watch at first, it wasn't so much spoiling anything but implied things. Season 3 opening 2 actually shows plot points. I wasn't spoiled by any of the opening except that one - I ended up figuring a lot out because of it! As a warning. If you end up watching it I feel like you'll be able to guess things but who knows haha

I agree with the people in the comments about the openings, the second opening for season 3 shows a lot of future plot so avoid that, but the first opening in season 3 is completely fine. On the topic of openings!! Season 2's opening is probably the most memed and quoted opening its also Erwin's/survey corps' moto, "shinzou wo sasageyo" means "dedicate/offer your hearts". The ending music and imagery just get better and better each season. This ending has a dark macabre feeling that fit the shows somewhat medieval looking time period really well! It also really fits the shows theme of weird imagery that makes my skin crawl. Speaking of things that make my skin crawl, the beast titan's entrance was the most shocking/horrifying things I've ever seen, my brain could not comprehend what I was seeing. I hated it the first time I watched it. It felt almost primordial because of its monkey figure, the way it talked, and the questions it asking Miche, like if they were speaking the same language and what the function of the ODM gear was. It honestly made me go into an existential crisis for a few hours after. Of course after all those shocking revelations it was then followed by Miche's horrifying death. I almost quit watching the show because I thought they were trying to making me feel sick for the fun of it. But I'm glad I didn't because this is one of my favorite arcs/seasons! so many great moments to come!

The first time watching this show I was horrified by the Monke Titan but as soon as it bent down, made that smirk face and started speaking with Dio's (Jojo character) voice I just started dying laughing. Goodwin's reaction did not disappoint here lmao.

SO excited for the show to actually kick off! Season 1 is basically like those synopses on the back of a book where it tells you what the story is about but doesn't actually tell you what the story is really about.
