This episode is fire 🔥

hays collins

“Lust’s is on her boob” hahah sorry I’m a child. That made me laugh too much

agoodwintv

Lol well the show seems to encourage it. There was a lot of boob focus in this episode

R'Mani Leavell

Wraths tattoo is on his eye, and Envy's is on his thigh, Im not sure how that correlates with their sins, but yea...

thevoidbender

I’m assuming it’s a play on blind rage? Like you are blinded by your wrath.

Margaret

Laura Bailey (lusts voice actor) is so incredibly talented, her screams give me chills every time

NitrousOxide19

mustang and alphonse definitely take the MVPs of this episode

malikparah

Obligatory comment on how Lust and Mustang's VAs are married in real life. They were engaged at the time of recording and after Travis (Roy) had recorded his scenes he called her to gloat about how he'd just killed her and Laura (Lust) wasn't impressed since she'd basically lost her voice from all the screaming

Nick

That’s serious dedication to the role on her part. This is why I love this dub. They have such a talented cast

benj

Haha Roy Mustang burning them titties go brrrrrrrrrrrr. Seriously that scene is intense and the screaming is unreal. The animation as well, incredible.

I've been so excited for you to see this episode! And I can't wait for next episode too!

agoodwintv

It's top notch, the whole episode is so good but that scene I think will be forever "burned" in my memory.

Honestly, if pressed I'd say this is my favourite episode of the series for a number of reasons. Aside from the amazing animation and voice work, it's really a turning point for the series. Not only do we learn that the Homunculi are powered by Philosopher's Stones, we also learn that they can in fact be killed. Also, up until now, Lust has been the most active antagonist for the series, and now she's gone, which opens up the door for the other Homunculi to start acting more openly. Also, something worth noting, Mustang JUST killed her. As in, one death fewer and she'd have killed him instead. And the last time we saw Lust seemingly killed? When Hughes put a knife in her head. In a backwards way, Hughes saved Mustang's life. Warms the heart, truly.

This episode is a big one. I'm a huge fan of Lust and so I've gone on many philosophical ramblings regarding her character before and my favorite idea is that Lust isn't just about sexual desire, but quite literally blood lust as well. We haven't seen Lust try to fulfill a sexual desire the way we've seen Gluttony wanting to eat, but we've seen her quite bloodthirsty and that's what's ultimately got her killed, not just because Lust could have easily killed Mustang when she had the chance but didn't (bc she wanted him to suffer) but also because she was taunting them by showing her stone. Her showing them took energy from the stone that she would have needed to kill Mustang (as she was seconds away from doing it). Also, I remember feeling a bit... lost... when she died, because she had been the main antagonist so far and I didn't know what was gonna happen now.

Yusuf

What the hell? Lust dies this early in the show? I don't remember her dying this early. Haha

This show has so many amazing characters, but my man Roy.... he is something else.

Brimmy

Yee cuz in the 03 version its much much later o.o

agoodwintv

I feel lost every couple episodes, as my expectations repeatedly get flipped on the head lol

miri

"it's a good thing havoc smokes" obligatory comment but, if i remember correctly, i'm pretty sure the author/artist of the manga mentioned at one point that she made havoc a smoker specifically for this episode! other fans, please correct me if i'm wrong!

Truly an amazing episode. Became a patron just to make sure I got to see this in full! Everything is so on point. The stakes are insanely high, the animation is perfect, the voice acting is impeccable, and damn if Roy doesn’t have one of the most bad ass moments in anime taking out Lust with cold determination and sheer will.

Kassandra

"This is some great voice acting, voice screaming." That's Laura Bailey for you!! She's one of the GOATs when it comes to voice acting. She's phenomenal and kills it in every role she's in.

agoodwintv

I just read through her IMDb credits (quite the list!) and realized I know her from a lot of things, mostly games, but also kid Trunks :)

Stephen

"Take gluttony instead" lmaooooo my thoughts exactly XD.

2022-01-27 22:31:12 Every time I watch this episode, I just love Alphonse even more. He urges Hawkeye to escape from someone who disassembled Barry with one swipe and "die" + regenerate through three full clips. He offers himself knowing that he would probably not survive the fight, but he refuses to leave her side. Then, he wraps her in his arms, preventing her from interfering with Mustang and Lust. The way he embraces her, protects her like he did for Ed in the first episode, is so sweet. I know Mustang rightfully gets most of the glory in this episode, but Alphonse is so clutch. He's always there when people need him--he's the backbone of the show. <3
