I'm a new subscriber but just wanted to say, I'm really enjoying this series. It's an old favorite of mine from years and years ago, but you've already touched on some things in your analyses I've never considered. Quickly becoming one of my favorite reaction channels.

Your reactions and thoughtful discussions are where it's at. Loving them. Also while many might have told you otherwise, Asami is not in fact based on lust but on rita hayworth, However in between seasons after having finally heard of Lust, Bryan did in fact steal/borrow Lust's lipstick color for later seasons of legend of korra to use on AsamI.

I mean, who isn't excited for Armstrong to strip!

Before anything: I think you got the tags mixed up for this one, cause it says Dragon Prince instead of FMA :D And Ed's opinion on Scar is less that he doesn't care, and more like what Scar's doing directly goes against his principles. Edward is extremely against any and all forms of murder for one, and Scar is in fact targeting those that were not involved in the Ishval genocide (the Tuckers, Ed, etc). It's not that Ed doesn't know much about the true extent of the war; in fact, him being from the East he was somewhat within the war's area of influence. Ishval is a keyword that's center to the entirety of the show, and is a starting point for incredibly many characters. And I got to say the way the author deals with this extremely heavy topic is simply masterful. In fact, in the manga an entire volume is later dedicated to flashbacks to the war, going in-depth to just how atrocious it had been, how it affected the people in and involved in it -- unfortunately, the anime cut quite some bit of the flashback and shortened it to one episode. It still successfully manages to send the message, but still.

You're right! Thank you, I fixed it :) What I'm curious about is Ed's stance on the military. He is aligned with them, and he definitely seems to know about the past, but he seems to be able to distance himself from that in pursuit of his individual goals. I'm looking forward to seeing this explored more!

Laura fucking Bailey voices Lust! made me think of Fruits Basket the original series is p'wholesome but the reboot of it from last year is literally following the manga just like brotherhood maybe in the future u can try out Fruits Basket :3 oh...i just remembered...despite the fact it was wholesome i cried a lot...oh...its still a really good series o.o

Word to the wise, skip the next episode previews for the following episode (because they contain spoilers), and also make sure you don't miss the episodes with the post-credits scenes! The show starts really getting into the meat of the themes a bit further down the line, but it does begin to lay down its groundwork early. I must say that it does feel a touch clumsy compared to ATLA, but that's a pretty high bar in my opinion.

Oi Alex! The show IS dark haha, Great reaction as always.

I really loved the touch of the whole episode being dark and rainy and gloomy and then after Al yells at Ed and they resolve to keep going the sun begins to come out Also not sure if you caught it but they called the person impersonating Father Cornello Envy so that's another sin to add to the list

Laura Bailey is so good in everything she's in! Recently, she killed it this year in TLOU2! Also I just started Fruits Basket. It is a nice and wholesome show. I didn't realize it was going to be sad tho 😢
