Oh man, that Hiroshi scene gets me every time. I feel for Asami so much. I can not wait for your reaction tomorrow, props to you having the willpower to limit yourself to one per day. I think I share the opinion of all the Americans watching when I say that this was much needed.

What a great episode! Not too much to say since it was action (and the show ALWAYS delivers on amazing action) but the redemption for Hiroshi and slight redemption for Bataar was really amazing. The Varruck and Zhu Li thing was always just perfect. I'm very sad for tomorrow's reaction and I think something might catch you off guard [no spoilers of course] but maybe you'll put the pieces together! See you tomorrow man! 😢

I still don't get though why Hiroshi didnt eject himself if the switches to eject both him and Asami were together, unless he believed that killing himself offered him some sort of redemption. But why give himself up when he could have been a part of Asami's life.

While Varrick's proposal seems almost rushed and very cringe-worthy, you know it's exactly what Zhu Li wanted. They worked together for years, and no matter how Varrick acted towards her she stayed by his side. She pushed him to be a better person and start seeing her as a valuable part of his life, even if he clung to the idea of her being his assistant a whole longer than he should have. They are my favorite couple. I also really love Hiroshi's redemption. It's so bittersweet. You see this troubled man lay down his life to save the city and the people he loves, and atone for his sins. Also Wu's singing makes me want to just walk out into Kuvira's spirit laser. Can't wait for the big finale!

Not going to lie, the scenes with Wu and Pema made me want to pull my hair out. But the rest of this episode was great. Varrick's proposal to Zhu Li was amazing, the battle against Kuvira's mech was really well-animated, and Hiroshi's redemption is one of the most heartwrenching moments in the series, even if I think that he was a bit underused this season and Asami was just generally underused throughout the entire series (still love her though). Anyway, can't wait for your reaction to the series finale tomorrow!

Yeah I always prefer characters to live if they can (you don't need to die to be redeemed IMO) but my guess is the implication was that he needed that extra second or so to finish what he was doing.

The singing nomads flashback was very relatable. Aside from Iroh's beautiful pipes, this show has a dodgy record as far as characters singing. I'm also having flashbacks to how it felt to see this for the first time. I know music isn't really a primary focus for you when you're commentating, but for me it's one of the best parts of LoK. Jeremy Zuckerman did an amazing job on this score, and it really comes together in the finale. Anyway, I can't wait to hear what you have to say about the Dragon Prince and Fullmetal Alchemist!

To be honest first time watching this episode I thought Hiroshi was gonna turn evil and eject himself and leave Asami haha only for a split second though

Alot of people did not understand why Sato didnt eject himself aswell but he needed every last microsecond possible to finish cutting that hole so if he had ejected there was a chance they would have failed.

Also I compare the scene where Korra sees the water and realizes what she has to do with Katara doing the same in ATLA finale when she sees the canal water both scenes even have the music die down and you her the exact same tune play in both scenes or atleast a very similar tune

The Legend of Korra, or it's alternative title, Asami Deserved Better. I just want good things for Asami. This is such a fun episode though, there's so many cool bending scenes in it.

Korras water bending will never not impress me bending skyscrapers worth of water then freezeing every drop. Zhu li and varricks proposal just amazing Poor asami never catches a break. Bolin scream of pain as he and the beifongs pushed over a skyscraper is always chilling to hear
