I almost want to do a moment by moment reaction cause Elijah is awesome. Instead I simply say this If someone says "Oh shit, cameras" when police are doing something = Not fren If someone says "Oh shit, cameras" when basically anyone else is doing something = Fren.

I finally watched Nimona today and had to come watch your reaction. I'm really grateful for how much you recognize and commented on the trans allegory. As a trans woman, this film hits differently, and it had me in tears almost the whole time. I think my favorite moment is when Nimona describes what transforming feels like: "Honestly? I feel worse when I don't do it. Like my insides are itchy. You know like that second right before you sneeze? That's close to it. And I shapeshift and I'm free...I wouldn't DIE die...I just sure wouldn't be living!" What a beautiful and poetic description of gender dysphoria and the freedom of being ourselves. Insides being itchy resonates so true to when I was closeted and before I could transition. I hope this film gives gender-expansive people early in their exploration language to describe their experience. And I hope it gives cis people deeper empathy for trans folks.
