Shout out to TimeBomb I'm gonna miss these characters 😢

Andy

This episode had such Life Is Strange vibes, down to the music and everything lol. Wild to think this is what the city would look like without hextech and with a version of Heimerdinger who is aware of the plight of the undercity for only 3 or 4 years... (Also, I love that the end calls back to episode 4 of season 1, where Heimerdinger says that the greatest accomplishment of a teacher is to sacrifice everything for the lives and legacies of his students)

Rachel Mae

Pfffft “What does Vi look like?” Well… 👻

Bazil

I screamed at Heimerdinger saying 'never a dull moment'. For non league fans out there, thats actually one of Caitlyn's most iconic lines. I swear its ingrained into my brain.

Steph Price

This episode made me bawl my eyes put 😭 ugghh I already miss Arcaneee

DarkGodHao

Good god, how much I literally screamed this Act

Chet Bliese

"Oh my god, What does Vi look like?" oh no

Bazil

Ok so a couple of things that are either stated or implied to have happened in the alternate timeline 1- The most obvious one is that Vi dies during the heist due to the explosion likely caused by Powder. 2- Marcus finds the kids but seeing Powder hugging and crying over the dead body of her sister, he lets them go. 3- Since the Enforcers never pursue the kids into Zaun, pressure isn't brought onto Vander to hand them over and Sevika never betrays him. 4- Either due to Silco finding Vanders letter or not having enough power to challange him due to Sevika's betrayal not manifesting, he eventually reconciles with Vander and they are able to build back Zaun. 5- Jayce either dies in the explosion caused by Powder or he loses all his research in it which causes him to spiral and commits suicide (we see in S1 that he was suicidal) 6- Either way since Jayce never makes any progress on Hextech, Viktor dies due to his condition.

Cody Saxe

My theory is that Vi found the crystals in this universe not Powder and that Jayce died in the explosion. I think if it was still Powder who caused the explosion she wouldn’t be this well adjusted we saw what being abandoned by Vi did to Powder can you imagine how bad it would have been if she caused her own death?

shoniswife_

we NEED ep 8 lolll

SharkMessiah101

This sadly very much feels like Ekko saying goodbye to the person he loves, Jinx isnt powder anymore and Ekko loved powder with all his heart its sad but she isnt that person anymore and she never will be

VixenQueen

You missed one! When Jayce gets blinded by the light you can see a robotic looking Viktor

The Akimbo Knight

Ngl when i saw powder in her dress gown/style all I could see was chloe price

VixenQueen

I’m so excited for her reaction to E8

dainbramage7

The amount of swearing I did this episode but in a good way, lol. Other than Vi being gone this version of Piltover/Zaun is ideal. It's sad to only experience it for one episode. Also, thank you for bringing up Mylo's poor stache game. I cracked up when he first showed it off.

Bazil

Nah as a LightCannon shipper this episode was my personal hell

Bazil

Heimer is a Yordle and Yordles are immortal. Well kind of. When they die they respawn in a place called Bandle City so Heimer is still alive.

Dean

Vi had to die so that Jayce would be exiled or sent to prison, and viktor would’ve never gotten connected to Jayce so he never started hextech.

Florena Emberlin

Looking forward to next episode to see how much 'that' scene adds to the runtime of the reaction. :P

James Long

One of the best episodes of the series. The Ekko focused episodes are always some of the best.

Nakiami derp

stromae's song fits incredibly well "my best enemy" in all its sad ways ... :<

Athena

I just finished the finale and I haven't stopped crying since the beginning of this episode. I AM NOT OKAY!!!

ItsSimmeRin

The implication that they can only be happy if Vi dies hurts so bad

Thirteen

Found this out watching the ep in Spanish for language practice. Unlike the rest (I think) of the music, Heimerdinger’s song dubs with each language.

Lil Ferret

As a Timebomb shipper I was actually walking on sunshine with this episode omg, I was so happy

O5-69

Not necessarily. Infinite universes means infinite possibilities. There's a reality where Powder still put the Hextech in her bombs but didn't kill everyone. Same as how Jayce just so happened to end up in the reality where Hextech destroyed Zaun and Piltover. In other words: erm, actshully 🤓

Jittercritter

Only Arcane can make you feel so distraught about feeling happy. I teared up during the dance scene because I was overjoyed to see them so happy, but also because I knew they could never have that in our version. That has to be insanely hard on Ekko, to know exactly what he could have had and to know he never will. Not to mention the fact that Vi is gone there, so even in the ‘best’ reality Vi had to die, making it STILL sad. This show is so ruthless that even the happiest moments are depressing as hell, just like the hug scene from ep5. This show somehow manages to make moments that feel both hopeful and doomed, both joyful and devastating, both inspiring and disheartening. No show has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster even close to the scale and range of this one, there will never be another Arcane.

Godzelda

It's the best way they could have done it. As much as I ship them, neither charecter is in the right emotional state to date in the main timeline.

Jozay

I wanna share something i noticed on my second watch of this episode, i haven't heard anyone else mention it sooo i guess i will! The flower pendant/necklace Powder was holding, we can see that she and Ekko's faces are carved on it, i'm guessing she was going to give it to him as a gift (are you still following me) keep in mind: Ekko never told Powder what the hextech experiment was for but when she saw the normal universe's Ekko when he was being sent back, following by her Ekko asking "what happened?'' when he woke up, I think she connected the dots and realized that it wasn't HER Ekko since he started acting differently. We see in the end the drawer she keeps the hex crystals in has "Vi" carved on it, I think she kept the crystals as it's something she holds onto since it has a connection with Vi, she then puts the pendant along with those in the drawer, not giving it to her Ekko and probably keeping it to hold onto this other Ekko :( okay now im crying (don't take my word for it that's just my interpretation ^^)

demonic-myst

I like how for zaun to work to improve and be better it needed both vander and silco the two leaders of the rebelion needed to work together even after losing to make sure it survives

Klice

So sad they didn't translate the french Rap song and put subtitles there ; it has a lot to do with the scene, as one could imagine, but it's better to understand it completely

Nightley

I still laugh about Elijah continuing with compliments on Jayce's looks after he had to go through hell :D

Hyrule Postman

"that must suck for everyone that doesn't know French right now." was my exact thought during this scene. The song is so beautiful and powerful for that scene. I hope this get fixe, maybe if enough people report the subtitles being innacurate they will at least put the french sub so people can go look the translation for the lyrics, ideally, they put a translated version in the sub directly.

Hyrule Postman

I htink "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" might be my new favorite song from Arcane s2 soundtrack.

Hyrule Postman

One of the only thing different i notice in the intro was the light ray on Vi are usually in the shape of a V adn for a couple frame it's in the shape of an X. as if she was crossed out of this timeline. Godammit Fortiche, good forshadowing there.

Ryan Porter

"I'm a lesbian, but hear me out..." is going to be a meme. Love a good "it's a wonderful life" episode. But don't worry, I'm sure Caitlyn still ended up with Maddie ;) And maybe I'm seeing things, but I swear the figure in the Hex-ocalypse holding the hammer is Mel - you can see the Medarta family signet on her finger.

Ryan Porter

I think any one of the five children in the blast radius (remember Caitlyn was there, too) would be enough to change the timeline. But I don't think the other timelines would have turned out as well as this one did if it had been anyone else. On the other hand, it Powder had died, Vi would have gone full villain arc, and we know how much Elijah likes a hot villain...

Lee Vincent

Not only that but Vi’s death must have convinced Powder to keep the Hextech crystals that they found a total secret. She’s hiding all that power away in that little drawer because she just knows that nobody else should have to lose someone the way she lost her sister. Powder was such a good kid and loved her sister so much, it freakin hurts.

Annieme

Is the amount of time heimy was waiting for ekko in this alternate universe the amount of time between seasons? Cuz it feels like it might be lmao

silverarrow06

There was also a picture of the kneeling figure jayce saw in the end and when ekko jumps you can see heimerdinger with goggles. 🙂

silverarrow06

I, too, think that Jayce died in the explosion, but I think Powder never learned what caused the explosion. Remember, when they had to flee, Powder lost one gem without noticing and then everything exploded. She only found out later that it was the gem that caused the explosion. Only this "later" never comes in this reality And you can see the crying Powder still hold the other gems in her hand....🤔🙂

silverarrow06

For me this is the most beautiful episode of the whole show. It is beautiful inside (story, character development) and out (the animation)...❤️‍🔥 So many tears, but finally happy tears...😅🙈

Shana

Am I the only one that thinks older Claggor looks like Clark Kent?😅

Robin NW

If Vi would have known that her sacrifice would have led to something like this. She would have offered herself in a heartbeat.

LikeCat

Okay so I thought that seeing young Vander and Silco in the flashback was a heartbreaking moment (which it is), but seeing them in an alternate timeline where they are happy is somehow even more ,,tragic" and sad.

silverarrow06

This show is all about forgiveness and love and that everything you do has consequences, so Vi "had" to die for this storyline, as sad as it is. It couldn't be any of the others, their death wouldn't have such an impact. Her death - the death of a beloved big sister, a leader amongst the teenagers of Zaun - triggers all the changes for the better. A teenager dying in an explosion at a failed break-in was the wake-up call both cities needed. Jayce is out of the picture (dead/arrested/banned) at a time where he didn't figure hextech out yet and Powder never figured out that the blue gem stone caused the explosion, so hextech got never invented. Having her remaining family still intact, Powder was able to make peace with the loss of her sister and the circumstances and could grow into this wonderful person we saw right now. Marcus felt for the kids and never got this angry and corrupted. Ekko never lost Benzo. Vander and Grayson never died and were able to bring the cities closer together. Silco found Vanders letter and they reconciled. Unfortunately, Vi and Caitlyn never met. Man, I love this show so much...💖

silverarrow06

There is one more thing about the dreams, Ekko has. "Our" Ekko says he dreamed that Zaun could be like this. I think his dreams were flashes of this universe. Powders tells us that "her" Ekko sometimes zones out and has dreams that gave him ideas what to invent. I think that is him getting flashes of our Ekkos ideas. These universes (that are so similar to each other) seem to influence each other...🤔😍

Peluche

This was such a wonderful episode and yet I was crying soooo much throughout it :,,) the "What could've been" song that plays at the end of season 1 continues to be so relevant. My guess in this AU is that Jayce was likely exiled due to his work killing Vi (a kid), and or he was exiled and committed su*cide before he was supposed to leave since Viktor was the one that stopped him from jumping in season 1, and that definitely didn't happen in this universe. My guess is that Vi's death had Silco thinking about Vander and their past , maybe leading him to go the their old mine place and finding the note, which led to their happy ending. Our Vi would be so overjoyed to meet this AU's Powder :(( I'm so heartbroken that she wasn't there to see this. Her death is what caused full reform for Piltover and it's so great for everyone except her. So many implications too for Cait even though we don't see her. She wouldn't be dead from the explosion, but she likely would have seen little Vi dead after walking into the room. My heart hurts thinking about it ;;;-;;;. Marcus also wouldn't have been bought off my Silco too and the Commander would still be alive so their futures would've been different too. Arcane really said you can't have it all and it's so good but it also sucks so badddd (my heart can't take it!!)

Joey Quixote

Not sure if you misspoke at the start of this video, and meant "weeks" instead of "months", but I'd totally understand wintering in Florida, especially when coping with seasonal depression. Enjoy the domestic life, you two! This might be my favorite episode of the series so far. Predominantly because we see all these people who have been hurting throughout the series living and thriving. We lost Vi, but I think if she saw this, she'd consider it an acceptable loss. I think this might be the anchor of one of those League spinoff series.

Liam Gradwell

I loved this. Such a great episode written by Amanda herself so of course it’s great. Bravo Amanda👏 I loved the Echo/Powder ship. Even more now and it’s just so cute and tragic on how they could’ve been. 😭💙💚

Hjordis

it gets worse when I think about how Cait never has to tackle a case like Jinx, and since its so peaceful, she never becomes the detective she's meant to be either.

Sam Pamenter

So two things: 1. in the intro vi has an X over her face instead of a V implying that she’s not in this alternate universe 2. I think we don’t see jayce in the alternate universe because he actually gets arrested and is either in prison or banished from piltover because the hextech didn’t just blow up a building this time, it killed somebody.

Serinthia Kelberry

You know, what I'm thinking? I'm thinking the fanfic writers now have a whole new canonical universe to play around in and build out to their heart's content.

Ozzy Silvers

Quick note, if the current LoL lore is still true, heimerdinger is still alive (though because of the way they took over the "happy" versions maybe our heimerdinger isnt) since hes a yordle which means when he died he respawned in bandle city

Zak

my opinion is that regardless of who had died, the outcome would be the same. a child dying on piltover property means they have to take responsibility. silco forgiving vander has nothing to do with vi dying. silco kidnapping vander is what causes all of episode 3 to happen. silco and vander working together leads to a more integrated society. i find it unfair to say either CHILDREN (vi/pow) are the problem when the system and the adults around them failed them in multiple ways. vi just happened to be the last in the building. people saying her dying is better for everyone missed what the episode is trying to say. TO ME

Catarina Moreira

me refreshing the page 1h to 1h to check if the new arcane ep react is up :S

Spyko

"what does Vi look like ? :D" Uuuhhhhh

Suri Ramos

Giving us mentally healthy Powder was beautiful and evil, I'm sending you strength for the other two T.T

Zemajick

GAH you guys are too f*ckin precious, hope you & Mosco are doing well

Osmara

What happened to Caitlyn in this reality? Did they mention her? I didn't notice
