Okay well I was just watching the latest RWBY reaction, but honestly I can't NOT watch this now LET'S GOOOO

Suplee215

Poor grog is left by himself. And Travis Willingham is happier that way.

Kris Grimsley

Little fun fact for you. While I will not say who or where for obvious spoiler reasons, one of the player characters from their third campaign actually makes a cameo in this episode

Ryan

"Now I'm confused and aroused." Elijah every other minute in Harley Quinn.

MehrGills

"Fuckin' scanlan" Yes, that is what was happening 😆 Also your reaction to the end was everything I was hoping for. This was the moment that the whole cast and world knew in campaign just how dark and deep of a story Matt had cooked up in his amazingly fucking up brain of his (I say in the most loving way possible). It could have been worse, you know. In the campaign, there was also a trinket look-alike. I know how much you hate animals having anything happen to them in shows. I think that might have fully broken you

Maximus Dominguez

“🫣 I was so not prepared for that.” Trust me, I’m pretty sure that was everyone’s reaction. 😱

SauceyRed

I absolutely LOVE your reactions to Scanlan's shit, and that reaction to that one scene is absolutely the best and most funny one I've seen lmao

Andy

I wonder if we'll get to meet Whitestone Andy

cobaltbeau

The reveal at the end of this episode is one of my favorite moments in all three campaigns. In live, too - Matt describes the bodies one by one, and the slow realization by those at the table about what they represent is just horrendous.

BlueEyedRaven

It's all sunshine and rainbows from here on out.

Iron117Prime

Be warned. This arc will not pull its punches.

Also, You seem to enjoy some of the more DnD-esque aspects of the show and comment on that a little bit - do you have any interest in reacting to short little videos that show what these moments were like in the stream and compare them to the show? Maybe as a patreon exclusive at the end of the season? It looks like there's ~4 longer videos that show scenes that mostly made it in unchanged (probably a total of ~35 minutes) and then 5-10 videos of short little clips that they used. I could throw them into a youtube playlist.

bloodyshadow1

when you finish season 1 you should check out videos comparing the stream vs the show, it's pretty cool. I know you're disturbed by the end of the tree, but it's pretty interesting ot watch

Dieter Hornach

welcome to critical role - also known as trauma land

John Bossert

your Scanlan reactions are the best

David Johnson

"I was not prepared for that" It's Scanlan, *always* be prepared for that... To quote Dr Who: "So many species, so little time."

Sere

Welcome to the fandom, we have cookies and trauma. Yeah, this is the moment that the players realized just how dark Matt is willing to go. Everyone loves coming up with the tragic backstory of your character and why they're like that. Matt let them play two plus years before diving into it with them. Taliesin gave Percy a dark tragic backstory, great. Time to explore that, see the kinds of monsters that would do this sort of thing. They will have plenty of goofy nonsense but they'll also go explore the darkness of characters like the Briarwoods

Mari L

Another excellent reaction. This episode is fun but is also a hard one to watch and to process because of the end. I can’t wait for the next reaction!

Lazuli _Polaria

ff: the priest lady from the temple of the everlight is voiced by Symmetra's VA (overwatch)

{L} Frances

I love watching her reactions to this show! Cause it gets very a) nasty, b) raunchy or c) horrifying, often in the same breath. Oddly enough, I kinda think the rest of the season will be easier for her? Like, I don't think it ever gets quite as viscerally extreme as it goes in this episode.

David Bodor

Damn Discord ruining the moment XD Really should mute/exit before recording

Aineyn

Such a nice, calm little episode! A shopping stop at your favorite magic shop followed by a little road trip in the woods, telling war stories around a campfire... All the fun stuff! :p

Ryan Porter

Not gonna lie... I was expecting your reaction to her nickname being "Kiki" to be more visceral. We need to start a "Elijah gets traumatized" counter. Two. One for Scanlan, one for the darkness. I didn't notice the rope creaking over the credits the first time I watched. Probably the most cruel use of sound design since Waverly's midnight snack... and speaking of, "Wynonna Earp: Vengeance" is out today! Happy Friday the 13th!

Kailor Aurelius

Now that last scene is something you should totally watch their live play of. Because it took them a little while to click and you could FEEL the tension climbing slowly as Matt was describing it all. Gave me chills. So good and so horrific.

Kisuke01

KEYLETH SUPREMACY FOLD FOR LADY KEYLETH

Liam Gradwell

Really glad that Elijah loves Keyleth, because she’s on of my favourites. Also, yeah. Vox Machina can go “too” sexy and then very dark at a drop of the pin. 👻🤣

Sere

A couple of neat things about it. Taliesin realizes it at first and has Percy immediately walk away while Matt was describing the bodies. Marisha makes the connection next and goes into immediate "no no no!" mode. And just good DMing in general when it becomes clear that his descriptions are getting a little too real for her, Matt stops describing the bodies, the point has been made and no need to further distress the players with them.

NERD!

I'm just glad Keyleth is getting more love, I still have PTSD from the people who harassed Marisha.

ELS_Art

Those beast (At least in the campaign) weee hellhounds. In the show they had to adapt them because Wizards of the Coast (The makers of Dungeons & Dragons) has copyrighted a lot of the aspects of the game to a ridiculous amount!

John Bossert

your reaction to Scanlan's story is hilarious

Bailey

Constantly impressed by how creepy the undead monsters in this show are. I feel like undead should be gross and creepy. I also feel like fighting them would be extra dangerous because of the risk of disease, not to mention how durable they are. Also, idk if it's just me, but those zombie wolves feel like something out of Resident Evil. But damn, that ending... absolutely morbid and tragic
