Hey yo, we just dropped Paraphore 0.9.9.9 publicly two weeks ago and then spent those weeks finishing up Semiphore 0.0.2!

Soon we're gonna get back to juicing up Paraphore's big climax, but first we've got one more small project in the works: Interphore. >w>

Here's the skinny:

Paraphore is ending!! Yes it really truly is, even though it's taking forever!! Para was built in a shitty old Haxe engine that's 100% reliant on Adobe Flash... and Flash is officially losing support within a few years. Paraphore will have to be replaced before then.

Semiphore was partly an attempt to build something good and ambitious enough to replace Paraphore after it's finished. Better to start the transition sooner rather than later, we thought, so we got to work on it and launched it as soon as we could.

And better to dream big!!! A 2D game, yay, wow, ooooh, ahhhhh! But part of that was also a bit of a gamble, because making a non-text-based game means your main source of lewds is commissioned art and animations. The gamble was that Semiphore would be dope enough to inspire more donations, which could be enough to pay for those commissions while also supporting us as developers, but that hasn't happened yet! D: So Semiphore is going to be put on indefinite hiatus for now.

Really, this is our faults for dreaming a little too big. We're sorry for getting everyone's hopes up. :c We did learn a lot of C++, though, so that's good??

Our apologies to everyone who really extra super duper loved Semiphore. Maybe we might be able to pick it up again someday! But for now, we're going to gamble on something a little safer.

Enter: Interphore! So many fuckin -phores! In a nutshell, Interphore is a Paraphore-inspired text-based game. You can see a very unpolished version of Interphore in Semiphore right now, if you're curious~

Why are we making a better version of Paraphore when Paraphore isn't even finished yet??????

The key is that Fallow wrote Interphore in C++ instead of Haxe, and it can be compiled to formats other than Flash. Why is that the key?

Because we might have to get ~real jobs~ soon, of course. :P If Fallow goes off and gets an IT job, he won't really have time to pour his life into the coding and debugging of a big new project. If we need a new project (and we do, because Paraphore's engine will be dead when Flash gets phased out) then we have to get it started asap, before our savings drain too low. That's why we're making Interphore before Paraphore is finished.

That said, we're not gonna pour months into it like we poured into Semiphore. We're going to take two weeks, make it presentable, release it, and then focus 100% on finishing Paraphore before Flash dies.

Interphore should look like this on launch day:

- Nice cute lil kinky text game that smells a lot like Para

- A small intro

- Basic node-based exploration system (hopefully more interesting than clicking one button repeatedly)

- Kink symbols

- Saving and loading

- Little guide on how to get started modding for it, creating your own custom scenes

- Some scenes authored by characters from Para

In the past four days since we released Semiphore 0.0.2, we've added tons of lil sounds, hover animations, and the basics of something like Mynt's catface mode. In two more weeks, I should be able to write a presentable chunk of content for it, too.

Another reason we're making Interphore is give our modders big fat gasms. Modding Paraphore was pretty fucking annoying and hard, especially if you hadn't worked with code before. With Interphore, we've created a simple Twine-like syntax that'll let you create basic scenes super fast and easy. We've also ported over a couple mods from Paraphore's modding community, in case you wanna make direct comparisons!

Keep an eye out for Interphore 0.0.1 two weeks from now, on Saturday the 24th! If you're beyond pissed at us for starting too many new projects, let us know! If you're beyond excited to see what Paraphore could feel like with a fresh coat of paint (or if you're just excited to read more porn), let us know! Feedback is always appreciated.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for your support!!!

tl;dr: Flash is dying. Paraphore's Flash-only engine will die with it, so we need a project that'll replace it down the road. Semiphore was supposed to be that project, but it ended up being a bit too expensive for us to maintain right now. It'll be on hiatus maybe forever. We're makin a new text game called Interphore, and it'll be out in two weeks!! Once it's out, we can focus solely on Paraphore until it's finished. <3 Thanks for your patience. Sorry things didn't work out.
