August Summary and a Dev Update (Patreon)

Since Marble Puzzles I've made some really exciting progress!

I was hesitant to share because at first I wasn't sure if these ideas were even possible. Basically, know that that I'm reasonably confident that these worlds will exist soon but I don't know in what order, it just depends on what ends up needing more work than I expected.

Murder- Been working on the "framework" that will let me make lots of different murder maps in the future. That means making everything from scratch again using Udon. As far as art is concerned, I've decided to make a new mansion-style map next (Murder 4) similar to 1 and 2. Murder 2 and possibly Murder 1 re-uploaded (if I can fix it) will be separate worlds. I have decided NOT to merge them together into one world with a map-select system, even though this has been suggested often. The map layout is not final-- the most important issue is the size. Part of the problem is that VRChat hasn't finished the voice chat system for Udon yet. I also need to keep playtesting to see what size feels good to play. Right now my favorite prototype is a large mansion with a few new room themes you haven't seen yet. I have many ideas for spin-off murder maps (not necessarily murder "4") that aren't a mansion... one of those might be done first, depending on how fast I can do the art. It takes a while.

Prop Hunt- Yes, prop hunt! Been spending some time working out the technical issues for this-- VRChat really wasn't made for this type of game, but I think it will be lots of fun. I pretty much have everything working, except the lobby/teams system. Just like Murder, this part takes a while and I have to make it from scratch in Udon (can't re-use stuff from murder 2 for technical reasons).

Zoombox- A party game where you guess the picture. The picture starts really blurry, but it zooms out and becomes more clear over time... the first player to guess what it is gets all the points. Just like spirit speak, the hard part is just downloading hundreds of pictures from the internet.

These are the three worlds I'm spending my time on right now, but in the near future I really, really want to revisit Kingdom Scrolls. I haven't started on it yet, though.

Also, I don't have any plans for spookality yet... but I might actually revisit Labyrinth and do a quick halloween re-skin. Some people have asked about my old world "Pyramid Nightmare" and why it was taken down. To be honest, I don't know. I think a database issue at VRChat took down the world a few years ago and when I try to re-upload it, even with a new world ID, it doesn't "go public." I will have to update this to the new VRChat SDK, I think. That might break the world so it might not be so easy. Also, looking back I'm kind of disappointed with that world. I would want to redo some stuff, especially the jump scares and the puzzle hints.
