Transformative Surgery (Patreon)

He had spent years working on the process - combining different living things into a single entity. Everyone thought his obsession ridiculous. What possible practical use would such a process be, if it were even possible? He decided to show them all. Genetic modification could easily produce many strange wonders. He scaled up a common garden spider to human proportions. When the creature was ready, he captured his volunteer from the back streets of Moscow. Cleaning her up, he put her under for the surgery. Locking her down on the surgical platform was necessary as the equipment required extreme precision in positioning. Next came his spider. It, too, was anesthesized and locked into the apparatus. It took nearly an hour to position the pair, scan the internal organ systems and program his surgical system. The procedure, itself, took a further five hours including the virtual reality training to allow the composite creature's brain to handle her new limbs. His colleagues were shocked but had to admit his success.
