Another in the Tara-based pieces.  

"Scale worms" are named due to the scales on the dorsal surface. Almost 900 species are currently recognised belonging to 9 subfamilies and 167 genera.  They are active hunters, but generally dwell in protected environments such as under stones. They are found in intertidal zones but some species have even been found in the deeps.  Some species are bioluminescent and can drop their scales to confuse predators.
