One Taunt Too Far (Patreon)

Jeanna decided it had always been fun, tormenting the younger girls at the school. After all, her dad was the president of the country's largest manufacturing company. They couldn't do anything to her without causing upheaval in the community. Everyone was afraid of her dad (even her, truth be told). He was overbearing, domineering, a bully, loud-mouthed, and (as often as not) a liar. She suspected he was even cheating on her mom but no one would come forward even in this "Me, too" time.
Most kids put up with it or formed cliques that would defend their members. She didn't much like it when the tables were turned and groups had a tendency to be nasty. She preferred picking on loners. No one would defend them. Like that Mindy Miraklos. Stupid little goth wearing those hideous things that no one with any fashion sense would be caught dead in. At times, she looked like a junior witch or something.
Today, she caught Mindy walking home. The "conversation" turned to taunts and put-downs. After ten minutes, Mindy was reduced to tears, her dark makeup streaking her ugly face. It was then everything happened.
"So you'd pick on everyone?" a voice behind her growled.
"Yeah. What of it my dad ..."
"Is also a bully. Perhaps it is time we dealt with you both. You disrupt the Harmony of the world"
She tried to turn to face the voice. It was hard. Her muscles barely obeyed her will. Finally she had turned enough to see the voice and wished she hadn't. She had expected a person and that was at least partially true to the hips. The rest was a huge black spider, 2 meters across, jet black with red marking.
"Please, don't," this from Mindy behind her. "She's insensitive. Perhaps she will grow up someday."
Mindy's voice held a note of pleading. That surprised her. Why would Mindy be defending her?
"It has been decided. Her actions judged."
"I understand," Mindy hung her head.
"Judged?!" shrieked Jeanna. "You have no right?"
"Indeed," the monster holding her in a wrap of silk. "The right of the abused. The right of balance."
Jeanna felt her body shift. A wave of burning pain began at he neck and slowly spread downward. Struggling against the silk wrap, Jeanna screamed as her breasts turned black and shiny. Her arms thinned and split into a pair of long thin spider legs. As the wave of heat travelled down her body, she felt her legs split as well. Finally, a huge burning, pulling began at her hips. When it stopped, Jeanna could hardly move. The change had taken much from her.
"You have damaged the Harmony much. You will restore the lesser Harmony of Nature," the monster stated coldly. "Perhaps both you and your father will find their own Harmony in your new forms."
Jeanna felt a strange twisting as the world around her grew. The silk bonds fell loose as she shrank and soon evaporated entirely. Finally the world seemed stable. The grass and plants seemed immense but Jeanna knew the truth. She was now a small spider, a spider with a woman's head. No more would she dine at lavish tables for her fare was now what she could catch and suck dry. She'd always loathed bugs but now they would sustain her.
"Is the need of Harmony so great?" the voice of Mindy asked from beyond her visual range.
"It is. Much damage has been done and is continuing to be done in the name of Prosperity. It stops now. Such as they will disappear into the weeds. Perhaps, they will avoid eating one another. Perhaps not. Harmony will decide."
